There are two separate issues:

1) IS the traffic at WOV going down.

2) WHY is it going down.

What's absurd, is that you look at the evidence in front of you and deny both, implying that the traffic was somehow artificially boosted when I was there meaning that it is now just back to normal - versus accepting the clear reality that the WOV traffic has been going down consistently, PERIOD.

You come in and say,

Whenever you're over there posting you are probably generating all that extra traffic yourself and let's not forget there are Bots that can also help with the task.

If you don't know, then stay out of it! Well, at least you don't make TENS of THOUSANDS of posts when you don't know. Just a few.

You know the Wiz - why don't you message him and ask him directly - do your banner ads on your sites pay revenue just for display, via PPC or only if someone follows them all the way to conversion (sign up). I know him too and could ask him directly but in that he's discussed legal matters with me I think it would be inappropriate for me to relay anything he and I discuss in public.

I'm pretty sure disclaiming that you don't actually know something confers upon one the right to speculate. My point was more along the lines of I know that there are sites that make money that way, but I don't know if WoO/WoV does.

To answer your question:

1.) Because I don't care that much.

I agree with that.

Over the last several years, in general, message boards have experienced falling traffic. Facebook and Twitter are kind of like the Walmart and Target of social sites whereas sites such as WoV (and many other topical forums) are kind of like the specialty stores. You know it's pretty serious when even Google tried to get into the game and ended up basically 86'ing that idea. That's not the only factor, of course, but most casual gamblers can find out what they want to find out just by going to the social media page for a particular casino or doing a Facebook/Twitter search for what they want to know. Before these sites really blew up, you'd sometimes have people joining WoV to post questions specific to a certain casino to see if anyone knew anything about it...now you can pretty much just ask them directly.

Thoughts on Inside the Edge…and that’s why I would never want to make a living at gambling. What a grind! Unlike KC, I never had to move beyond the invited guest / high roller stage because I never needed the money, it was and continues to be just a game to me, where I have to win, but don’t need to.

By the way, while KC was thinking that it was variance that was killing him during the winter, when his bankroll went from 650 to 300K, I think it was more that he got tired…the cold winter’s drag of the mid-west and back east got to him…he wasn’t playing at his best…and then as soon as he hit Florida and the Bahamas, back on track. Mere coincidence? that he started winning again in the warmer nicer locales, or was it that they wore him down for a period? in the cold.

In any case, variance, cold or not playing at his best, just shows how big wins (or losses) might happen at any time. I don’t necessarily agree with his altering basic strategy to the point of doubling a hard nine against a dealer ten face up just because the count is plus 3. Seeing the hole card or having the dealer TELL me his hole card, yes I've experienced that, in a scenario like that, sure, I've altered basic strategy greatly.

So he won $450K busting his ass for a year. Back when I played much harder, I have won almost that in just one trip having a great time as an invited guest fully comp’ed and been invited back. Whatever he is doing is not a sustainable game plan, and I think he realizes it, otherwise why show all his different faces on a nationally broadcast movie.

I’ll stick with what works, and hiding just to play at a casino is not something I’d ever want to do. I have a thousand other ways to make a lot more money in the real world, so to keep ‘em happy, I’ll keep switching up between black jack and Baccarat, and winning at both. Always keep the casinos guessing.

In his defense, In just about 4 months, this thread has 67 pages. Big Casino Wins and Jackpots is almost 8 years old and has 182. The WOV Thread is a little over two years old and has 244. Mdawgs Adventure thread is the fastest growing thread on here in just about 4 months.

He deleted his posts on his way out, boycotting WOV, kudos to him for leaving, he was one of the first mass posters to boycott. Why he's so ashamed to admit to it, when probably a dozen or more people know it's him, is beyond comprehension. I think he's a good poster, even though he pulls the occasional tantrum. It's like Singer who never admitted to being Jerry Logan when most knew he was.
