Mission, I would suggest you contact the author of the article if you haven't already. He will confirm that they knew the sequence published was not accurate and that it was intentionally so. Doesn't take much to guess why.

The fact that Singer knew the sequence was wrong is not as definitive as some people think as many people seemed to have this knowledge. There are many ways and people one could learn that from....AFTER THE FACT.
