I'd like to buy a Farm in Missouri and retire but at this point it's probably just a pipe dream.
Besides, my wife got a job giving me all my insurance needs and someone got to get out there and be a worker bee.
    Ain't gonna be me.

So I have been on both sides of the regular employment vs gambling life. I worked for a small specialty law firm for 5 years, then started my own practice with a partner. Between lawyers, para legals, secretaries, etc we had over 20 employees. And then I said why the fuck am I working to pay for all of these people and their benefits.
I walked away and gambled for about 15 years. Then I had some medical issues that didn’t allow me to fly to casinos so I took up law again. As my health recovered and casinos opened closer to home, I did both for a while. Then on line betting for horses became available and that has been a full time job. I did have my own office at the race track for several years. I still maintain a law office as I handle trusts and estates and people were starting to die and it was easy $$ with minimal time expended.
I didn’t have to get health insurance as I am on my wife’s. But everything else, whether when gambling or lawyering was handled like any other self employment. There is no reason an AP can’t handle it professionally as any other self employed person.

Is your experience as an employer in accord with Mr Penis' assertion (below) ?

You're the retard. I asked "why does" and you change it to "why would". Big difference. But you should know that as 90% of your posts are trying to catch people up on shit like that. So go ahead and fuck right off dumbass.

To be honest coach, I am too soft to be a good employer. I am basically a nice guy and I think an effective employer needs a certain degree of SOB in him. When I was an employee, I worked for a brilliant tyrant and I did feel I was being raked. But I have to admit he taught me everything I needed in my field.

Regnis just for the sake of discussion and information please put a value on the following -- just in case some AP really thinks that playing at a casino can duplicate your set up:

"I still maintain a law office as I handle trusts and estates and people were starting to die and it was easy $$ with minimal time expended.
I didn’t have to get health insurance as I am on my wife’s."

Since you worked in a school system. It is possible that you got more than you gave. Just another taxpayer's parasite. So you might have to ask that. But in private industry for profit business you can be ensured that an employee must produce more than they take. Otherwise the company wouldn't survive. I know that's hard for parasites like yourself to understand. So you need to ask stupid questions.

Just trying to establish a baseline, common ground, so that the discussions can proceed in a meaningful way.

Some of the members here are real weasels, it's a challenge to get them to stipulate to even the most basic facts.

Mr Penis admitted to being a weasel awhile back, his nickname in the military was "Crapgame".

    Wait a second.
Don't you and I parasite the Casinos?
Heck, I've made plenty of moves to get Free Government Money for 35 years!
Don't major corporations steal Billions all the time from the taxpayers?
Didn't Multi-Millionaires rape all that Free Government Covid Money??
    Advantage Play is Advantage Play.
    I don't care who I rape.
    Welcome to the Jungle!

EDIT: I'm pretty sure it is a known fact that Farmers couldn't survive if they weren't subsidized by the Government i.e. the Taxpayers.
    Are the Farmers Parasites too?
The Government constantly rapes us as individuals.
The whole game is a game of musical chairs.
Are we not allowed to rake back some of that money they steal from us?
Over 300 some odd taxes that we are constantly hit with and over 80% of them are hidden taxes.
Talk about a day and age for the need of a real life Robin Hood.

I noticed that a lot of the people who leave plays at the casino are the same cunts that will cut you off to beat you to a red light when driving or run you over with their car as you try to cross the street in the crosswalk with the walking light on unless you stay put and let the light change to red again.

You act like health insurance is some thing only slave employees have. In today's world your premiums and deductibles are based on your income. Depending on age, sex, whatever your premium is calculated for the plan you choose. Then your income determines how much you pay monthly and what your deductible is. If you're destitute the state pays thru medicaid. If you are not destitute your previous years income determines your monthly responsibility.

    It really is that simple.

The ideal thing is to show as little income as possible to have the lowest premium.

I know you are being serious as a heart attack with this post but it still made me laugh but I have a twisted sense of humor.
    Yum Sing!
Which means Nostrovia or Cheers in your case.
