Since this type of research was started way before climate change was considered the issue it was now, I think that energy demand fulfillment is much more likely the reason for asking about the fusion breakthrough. The video I posted had a scientist in charge of modeling stating that the design of the fusion experiment was AI-assisted. I think that may have been while you were asleep. Any scientist that's not a nuclear scientist isn't nearly as qualified to make an estimation compared to one that is.
