I can tell you this thought. On one of the blackjack forums, there was a discussion about filing a complaint with NGC. being an active players, I immediately said I didn't want to be any part of that. I would be happy to share my information and work behind the scenes, but I didn't want to the face of any complaint. So there was some talk of recruiting Michael Shackleford to be the face of the complaint. Mike was out of town as this discussion began, but I think at least some of the discussion was on the open forum. The very next time I visited the casino the ASM had been removed. Mike returned several days later and was in fact interested in at least looking into this situation, maybe tracking show play himself and comparing results, but by that time, the machines had already been removed.
So it could have been the public discussion and accusation. It could have been when talk turned to Shackleford being part of it. It could have been a trial lease expiring for all I know. I just can't possible know why the machines were pulled, all I can tell you is the timing.
