MrV, I have and make enough money to live comfortably by my standards. If it ended today, I am not ready financially to retire, so no I am not set or have enough money.

But it isn't all about money for me either. Never has been. I have always had the ability to play higher stakes and make more money. Lots of guys went that route. And most make more money for a year or two and end up writing books or running 'bootcamps'. I loved the inside the edge documentary that KC did. But it lasted a year and after finishing well below his high he made 600k.

I chose longevity and came up with a plan for longevity making a comfortable amount. I am 14 years in and still going.

But again, I chose what I do and don't do. I am not one of those guys that thinks advantage play means you can do anything, legal or not, ethical or not. I have different standards. I shared one example of this years ago, when I quit hole-carding after several months. I was setting my alarm for 3am, to get to a casino at 4am to play with a dealer that was pretty blatantly exposing his hole card. Absolutely nothing illegal about hole-carding. But it clicked for me, that was not the way I wanted to win or make money. I wanted to play my game, blackjack completely by the rules the casino had established and win, using my brain. THAT is my standard of advantage play.

I don't hold it against any other player that chooses to do things I would not do or not be comfortable doing. This industry cheats and steals every chance they get. So they deserve whatever other players do. I just have my own standards of what I am comfortable with.

I don’t read here every day. I sometimes go weeks or a month or two without even looking here at all. When I do, I often don’t read back too far…so I had no idea about everything else your post says. Or, if I did see it, I forgot.

Then say "hmm". I probably am not explaining it great. It isn't necessarily the hole-carding. I encounter dealers showing their hole-card every now and then. And I don't pretend I don't see it. And I adjust my play accordingly, unless it is something so blatant it would be obvious like hitting a hard 18 or 19 vs dealer 10 (because you know it is a 20). And I just can't emphasize enough how it isn't illegal.

It was the setting the alarm to go chasing after a weak dealer that just clicked with me. It was the 'what the fuck am I doing' moment for me.

Now here is something that might make you say hummmm (extra m's). I network with several blackjack players. Usually they don't give out anything useful, but occasionally they will give a location and/or dealer that is dealing deeper penetration that normal. Dealing 5.5 out of 6. And I have taken that info and gone running to that game. Now you might ask, what is the difference between taking advantage of a dealer dealing extra deep penetration and taking advantage of a dealer hole-carding and I don't have a great answer for that question. It is just me. It just didn't feel right to me...especially the setting the alarm for 3am and chasing after him like that.

I played the big six wheel or whatever it is called for 6 months using Grosjean's method. I think I was responsible for T.I. going to automated wheels because I was kicking ass against the asian girls clocking their spins. I had a bit of that same feeling, like this isn't right. Not illegal. Just not right for me.

In the end I am a blackjack card counter. No matter what else I do...VP, side bets, plays that someone may teach me, sports betting that I am doing now, I am and always will be a blackjack card counter at heart.
