I assume you can gold plate the various parts of a watch but it'd wear off on the wrist. Regardless it is real gold. The weight and density don't matter on your wrist or in a photo.
Gold plating does not look anything like solid gold. Anyone who knows may tell the difference even from a distance, just like anyone who knows may tell the difference between platinum and 18K white gold even from a distance.

The point is, this sort of thing is meaningful only within one's peer group. So the fact that the Wolf can't relate just affirms that he needs to get back to swilling the Cap'n and investigating Silver Sevens for his next scam, now that he's burned down Ellis Island.

Gold plating is actual gold on the outside. You can't tell by the naked eye. lol what are you talking about. You clearly aren't a student of the harder sciences. No offense dude. I'm a fan but ...sometimes I just gotta sniff sniff i smell bs posts.

Density.. scratching it. Something like this will tell you it is plated but gold plating looks just like gold. It is gold. Come'on. We're not 10. It isn't "fake gold plating". It is "gold plating".
How much solid gold or solid platinum have you experienced in your life? I'd venture to say, very little if you can't tell the difference between plated and solid visually on a watch. We're not talking about a chain. Over that much surface area, that many intricacies in the bezel, case, lugs, band, clasp, the plating won't look the same at all.

You're also talking about the difference between an iconic extremely well know design on a watch, where every aspect is second nature to someone who knows the watch. For example, the Rolex Day Date, which is available in only solid gold or platinum. Show me a fake one of those that doesn't look like garbage.

You really have to be a loser poseur to try to wear a fake gold watch. (I imagine the fake Rolex AxelWolf has in a drawer is a fake gold one. )

AccountInQuestion, the respect you've earned is in not being UNKewlJ like in talking about shit you know nothing about. Don't lose that solid rep.
