For Las Vegas (and other places with mild winters), it isn't just that the winters are mild, but they are short.
Las Vegas has 2 months of (mild) winter. December and January with Ave high temps of 59 and 60. Come end of January winter, for what it is, is over and temps start climbing. Ave Feb temp 65. Ave March 73. Most places despite what the groundhog says, winter lasts through March, some places into April.
I would describe Las Vegas as 2 months of mild winter, 2 months of spring, 2 months of fall and 5-6 months of summer.
mickeycrimm, what you are describing sounds just dreadful to me. But to each his own.Just be careful. Isn't there some medical theory that colder temps cause blood vessels to constrict and more heart attacks to occur? Something like that.
