I previously offered mickey air miles and a hotel. He turned it down. In lieu of that, a coffee seemed like a nice idea.
Good to know I'm not a cash bettor. A couple of years there, way back when money was worth three times as much, I was lugging roughly 100K in cash and tickets around Las Vegas with me for two years -- on my person. I guess I needed the exercise. I tend to not mention this because the runners parading around the Stardust and Binions had much more on them. I was well under the radar.
For those who know me, yes, those two seasons were an anomaly. I usually had 20K to 30K in cash and tickets on me any given time for the other decades. Much lighter to carry. Not a strain -- explains my underdeveloped biceps.
As far as intelligence goes -- yes, I am a moron when in a room with the people I hang out and work with. I am blessed.
It's obvious the guy doesn't get out much by the way he throws around Dr.'s names, restaurant venues, his phony invitations, and this "girlfriend" that he utilizes to make up for his losing. And he hasnt yet figured out that using that "former VP of Boeing who's light in the loafers" as some sort of impressive crutch doesn't cut it anymore, given the proven corruption that place has been engaging in for years as told by whistle-blowers and falling-apart airplanes.
Druff, let us know when you receive redietz’ credit score.
I didn't decline. He never directly asked me. You won't find an email with him asking me. The truth is, I didn't promote myself with him because it seemed evident that he preferred my co-host as a guest, which makes sense. Everybody prefers her as a guest. First of all, as Richard said, women make better and more interesting guests. Second, my co-host outranks me in many ways. While I lugged 20K-30K around with me in LV most of the time, the group she headed was betting 50K and up per game, and she could get any suite/room in the city she wanted with the exception (sometimes) of major holidays, so she was in the MDawg comp category. And she had better, more insightful Stardust-esque stories to tell. I'm just a person who knows his way around LV. She was, as they say, in the loop. So she makes the better interview, and that's what I took away from Richard.
Why would I not want to be on GWAE? I'm entertaining as hell.
Many of the guests that appeared on GWAE used aliases so redietz and his girlfriend could have done the same.
Druff, let us know when you receive redietz’ credit score.
Every one /everyone knows it all; yet, no thing /nothing is truly known by any one /anyone. Similarly, the suckers think that they win, but, the house always wins, unless to hand out an even worse beating.

First, a happy Memorial Day and especially to those who served our country to preserve our way of life that I enjoy so much. Friend or foe, a sincere thank you for your service.
Ok, next, can someone tell me where we (reasonably) are with the whole Redietz situation? I always say it isn't that hard to figure out who knows what they are talking about and who is just talking. And redietz's story and claims of supporting himself for decades via sports betting always seems reasonable to me. But I am just not that knowledgeable in advantage sports betting. Trying to learn, but far away.
Initially, I always thought a winning sports better, was simply a player that handicapped games and was able to win at 54 or 55% rate to overcome the vig. Sort of the horse racing model. I now have learned there are many other things involved and other ways to gain and advantage. One of them, that I learned because of redietz was all the contest play. I had no idea, there were/are players doing this for a reasonable part of their income.
Now for the last couple years there has been a real effort to discredit Red. And he hasn't helped his case with some of his goofy statements about EV and comments about other advantage players and forms of advantage play. Something he should know if he was who he claimed.
Along the way, Red has mentioned a female "girlfriend" who also is involved in sports betting and the contests. And according to him, she does well. Good for her. A while back it came out that she is from a mob family here in Las Vegas or something? And there were threats made regarding comments about her. I didn't really understand or get into all that.
Now I am reading Munchkin wanted to interview the girlfriend?![]()
So what is going on exactly? Can someone explain it to me like I am a 3 year old?
If Red, isn't who he claims, it was rather bizarre for him to post his home address and such about 100 times, knowing that anymore who looked into that would find some unpaid tax history, which despite his explanation, doesn't exactly bolter his claims.
So if Red isn't a sports bettor, who had supported himself from different things involving sports betting for several decades, who and what do you "detectives" believe he is? A doctor?, Some other profession that would have afforded him to spend months every year in Las Vegas? I see no prove or evidence of anything else, amnd I think there would be some.
And please, anyone offering some explanation, lets keep it reasonable and not twilight zone shit like you clowns usually do. Don't give me any of this His father is buried in the back yard and Red has collected his social security for decades, TYPE crap.
Mickeycrimm, please weigh in, since you have sort of lead this charge against Red. Who and what do you reasonably think he is? And do you have any evidence that he did something else to earn a living other than what he claims?
Dan Druff: "there's no question that MDawg has been an obnoxious braggart, and has rubbed a ton of people the wrong way. There's something missing from his stories. Either they're fabricated, grossly exaggerated, or largely incomplete".
Oh, one other small detail. I see in the communication posted above, that Munchkin referred to the female friend as Red's wife. Was that a mistake or something Red hasn't shared?
Dan Druff: "there's no question that MDawg has been an obnoxious braggart, and has rubbed a ton of people the wrong way. There's something missing from his stories. Either they're fabricated, grossly exaggerated, or largely incomplete".
No one cares what Redietz does for money. I don't think people doubt he beats contests.
The problem is he sits around and ridicules people who use concepts to make far more than he ever has. He goes out of his way to do so. Repeatedly.
Whether he is a winning cash bettor? It is hard to say. You can either assign the bet an EV value or you can ask yourself "Am I going to win this bet 55% of the time". Most pros are going to have a system that assigns an expected value to the bet and there is where they make their decision. Given how redietz has consistently ridiculed such a thing it is VERY possible he is a losing cash bettor but winning at contests.
When you don't approach a cash bet from an EV standpoint then you're just letting your own biases get the best of you. Asking yourself "Will I win 55% of the time" is not a question you can answer with a systematic approach. It would be amusing to hear Redietz give his thoughts but he never addresses things directly. It is comical.
C'mon, kewlJ. The sports betting universe has been very public and verifiable for 40 years. You don't get an invite to Rick Hall's Who's Who in Sports Gambling without a resume. You don't get invited to the invitation-only Wise Guys Contest, 35+years and running, without an established reputation. You don't get hired by Billy Walters unless you've done what you say you've done. Do you really think Billy Walters doesn't do his research and check the bona fides?
I was on TV in the Buffalo Cable Satellite Handicap before you were in diapers. The weekly publication that accompanied the TV show was called The Absolute Truth. It tallied everyone's record on the show. The publication went out to anyone who requested it.
The McCusker Report -- AKA "Tipsters or Gypsters?" -- was published for more than a dozen years in Las Vegas. It names all the names. It provided all the ATS records, including multi-year records on the back pages. The author was profiled in a San Francisco Chronicle article.
I was on newsstands in Marc Lawrence's weekly Playbook newsletter for at least a decade. If you check out the Playbook Football Annual on your newsstand next month, you'll see what is likely the biggest selling football gambling annual in the country.
This isn't some hush-hush, cloak-and-alleged-dagger "AP" bedtime story. Jesus, the guy I'm traveling with was chair of a college department and has known me for 20+ years. We've had lunch every week for those 20 years. Ask him what I've been doing for the last couple of decades.
Actually, I've been subbing for Deuce Bigalow when he goes on holiday.

The difference between REDietz and UNKewlJ is that RED exists and is willing to meet people.
UNKewlJ, other than some sightings of him playing low end video poker or pretending to play blackjack as cover for sugar daddy plays, is but a for-pretend phantom.
I tell you it’s wonderful to be here, man. I don’t give a damn who wins or loses. It’s just wonderful to be here with you people.
MDawg Adventures carry on at: https://www.truepassage.com/forums/f.../46-IPlayVegas
Kew, like you, red earns a living from waiting tables. Only he comes home to a make-believe girlfriend instead of a fake brother.
Why else do you think such a self-proclaimed savant can't get out of the Tennessee hills for more than a few days in June each year? The hill folk do need time to copulate with their brothers and sisters, ya know.
I'm still puzzled over why he hasn't invited YOU to one of his "working dinners at V & A's" (yes red, that's what those who go there more than once every 5 years refer to it as) to rub elbows with his weirdo pals yet. You two could swap jock straps and loafers while trying to figure how much to bet on the Celtics to hang their 18th banner!
Red, I am sorry, if you feel I am/was attacking you. That was not my intent.
Couple things. 1) I never really got the attack on someone that goes: "I was doing this or that when you were in diapers".All that really says is one peron is several decades, older than the other. I think we have established that.
2) so all these publications (from decades ago), list players that were in contests and what their records were, right? Because they wouldn't know what a player was betting as far as cash bets and how they were doing. So they are publications tracking contests. Ok, great. I really never doubted and still don't doubt that you did well in some contests. I say some because I am sure you tell us the ones you did well in and conveniently don't mention the lousy ones. (kind of like Mdawg reports all his winning days but none or few of his losing day).
3) you mention working for Billy Walters for 6 months and even made the comment that you don't get hired by him if you are a nobody. I don't know that. I assume these top sports bettor went through "runners" like some of the top blackjack teams used and went through low level card counters. If you are going to repeatedly bring up Billy Walters, has he ever vouched for you or even said he knows who you are? I am not requesting that because I don't ask people to prove anything, but YOU keep claiming that.
4) You like to mention all these different academic type people that you claim you know, the latest being this "chair of a college department". Who gives a fuck? What does that have to do with gambling, or sports betting? I am casual friends with an actor. Not a huge name, but he has been in a dozen movies. I have never mentioned it because it has absolutely no relevance to gambling discussions. So why do you think all these different professors and academic types has relevance or impresses anyone on a gambling forum. To tell you the truth, if anything, it makes me think you are really from the academic college professor world, and like to gamble on the side.
5) And finally, I am an advantage player and specifically a card counter type advantage player. We play daily (or how ever often we play) against an industry and people from that industry, that want to stop us and want to identify us. My identity and anonymity is top priority for me. I see no reason to ever meet anyone from a forum, unless I was considering working for/with them. There is just way to much shit that occurs. I am aware other AP's don't feel as strongly about that and like to meet just to hang out. That is their call.
You specifically, I have had concerns about ever since you first expressed, or I first read your comments on members of a gambling forum and their anonymity. Even if not a card counter type AP, anyone around the casino industry as you claim, should understand that. That you claim not to is bizarre to me. And lately you have gone even further. It is almost like you are trying to discover peoples identity. Maybe it is nothing, but it raises red flags to me. I have experience with nutjobs from forum trying to indentify me for the purposes of harming my career. And I am not saying that is what you are up to. Just saying...
So No, I am NOT interested in having dinner with you any more than I am having dinner with Rob Singer. If I was going to meet someone from a forum, just to meet (not to partner on a play with), it would be mickeycrimm. Even other AP's that I have no doubts are AP's or even someone like Druff, I just see no reason to, when there is possible even if minute possibility of risk.
How about you just answer this one little question for me....just out of curiosity now. Is the Mob family girl you are in contests with your (second) wife? Or did Munchkin just make a mistake referring to her as that?
Otherwise have a good Vegas trip. meet lots of people if that is your goal. Heating up here now. Bring sunscreen.

Dan Druff: "there's no question that MDawg has been an obnoxious braggart, and has rubbed a ton of people the wrong way. There's something missing from his stories. Either they're fabricated, grossly exaggerated, or largely incomplete".
There is so much to pick apart. There is no record of cash betting contrary to what Redietz claims.
With cash betting you have 3 choices for the most part. Either side of the bet or JUST DON'T TAKE THE BET. Without the concept of something analogous to EV you can't know when to not take the bet. With most contests you just pick a side. You are not punished by the house edge. You're also not necessarily betting against pros in contests. When you cash bet against a book then yes you are taking on a pro.
This is why there is no real indication Redietz is a winning cash bettor.
His explanations are bizarre yet amusing. (Thank you, Redietz)
