A nuclear war will probably destroy humanity first.

While the probably of a nuclear war is difficult to estimate most experts put the odds of it happening in a 10 year period from 1% on the low end to 10% on the high end.

Pretty low odds but for anyone who understands jackpot math, what happens if you spin a slot machine that on each spin has a 1% chance of a jackpot happening? With enough spins you get the jackpot with 100% certainty and not even a very large number of spins.

So the more time goes by we’re looking at a nuclear holocaust with 100% certainty, unless everyone got rid of nuclear weapons.

I’d worry about that one first if your going to worry.

I'm not sure I disagree that much about the nukes but "destroying" the world is going to be a long slide downwards via global warming.

It is also likely to cause some of the tipping points that lead to nuclear action.

But yea.. it seems like Iran may or may not get nukes but other nation-states will not. I don't see civilization progressing enough to go past that. I used to not really realize and took your argument in a different angle. That being that every time you add another nuclear power - you increase the odds by like N+1/N . I'm not sure that is exactly correct but the idea is the odds just keep going up and up.

Regardless, I can't change nukes. I can change people's attitudes. Nukes will make it end a lot faster. Climate change will hit some sort of stasis where it is likely sustainable for the remaining but that would be a lot of culling to get there.

I'm one who couldn't care less about climate change (formerly, "global warming" that caused liberals never ending gas attacks) or whether any of it has anything to do with being "man made" or not.

People run this planet and control all of it's resources, no one can control natural phenomena, so IT IS AN ABSOLUTE ENORMOUS WASTE OF TIME WORRYING ABOUT IT. If people on this planet choose to do little or nothing about it IF THEY EVEN COULD, then that's the way the cookie crumbles. If Mother Nature decides to put the hammer down, then nothing can stop that from happening.
