I am not going to re-hash the shuffler situation again, but just for fun a couple questions for you AinQ.

1). You are aware that ASM have the ability to take a randomly shuffled deck of cards and place them back in sequence by suit and number right?

2). If your answer to question #1 is yes, then why would you think that same technology does not allow the cards to be placed in any order desired? It is the same technology. Same ability.

I have witnessed it twice (possibly a 3rd time) in casino settings, and seen done privately in my home with the assistance of a tech savy individual (where I am not).

If you ask why it is that I have stumbled on it twice or did at that time, the answer is because I was playing 100,000 -120,000 rounds a year at that time. I played A LOT!

So your experience playing blackjack in casino environment is what by comparison that you can definitively state this didn't happen?

The technical capability being possible gives little credence to the full scenario put forth.

That is that shufflemaster risks their full business on there being a standard backdoor shipped. AND if this mode happened to exist because it is an inside job at shufflemaster - there is no chance this backdoor was accessed by some dude you hired on Craigslist without days of work. (Who was able to access it without prior knowledge. )

I have my own theories and stories about deckmates with actual real life collaboration but it is suggestive of too much for me to ever discuss it in public.

As for the manufacturer risking their license that is precisely why accessing this feature was a backdoor thing and not a standard feature.

While the manufacturer is not without blame, IMO, just as much blame lies with NGC. Probably not intentional or in cahoots or anything, just under-funded and under manned, especially with people with the kind of expertise necessary to handle all the advancements in technology over the last 15 years. They were just ill-equipped to handle it and approved some ASM's with this ability that they NEVER should have.

The following part is my opinion and I am aware it borders on conspiracy, but I believe when rumbling on this problem began to surface, (before I helped shine a light on it), instead of taking on the problem head on, I believe there was some kind of quiet agreement to sweep it under the rug. Had gaming acknowledged the problem and that they (possibly unknowingly) approved the technology, there could have been a class action suit involving any player that ever played against the machines (AP to ploppie) against every casino that employed those machines. It would have been worth billions and a black eye to almost everyone, casinos, NGC, manufacturer.

You can say whatever you want, but there was just no reason for machines who's purpose it was to (randomly) shuffle, to have the capability to read the cards, which would allow them to be placed in any order desired.

The reason that they could tell if any cards were missing was just nonsense. Somebody, somewhere (NGC) was a sleep at the wheel in allowing that, when that provided the potential for cheating.

I stepped up and I am not even Tasha's fan/Bestie/mate.

If you really want to help her, help her learn to play slots +EV. I am not a slot player so I can't help there. Giving her a little money is like giving her a fish, but teaching her to play +EV would be like teaching her how to fish.

For someone like you and me and most of the legitimate posters on these forums - it is all about winning. If we can't win at something, we give it up.

With her, she can't win but worse than that - she cannot afford to lose. Kerry Packer won sometimes but over all lost millions in casinos. But - he could afford it.

So she should either give it up or learn how to win at it. I mean, how bad off can you get, you work a menial job have to take the bus to the casinos and then end up in debt over it. She's not going to get anywhere in her life until she gives up gambling. In that respect I almost regret helping her get back on WOV, because giving her another outlet to discuss her gambling propagates her continuing with it, but it meant so much to her that Wizard and I decided that we would let her back on.

These are the things that Need to be Discussed - to get her to take a hard look at what she's doing and where it will take her (Nowhere).

In any case, Tasha would be a good charity project. I put in my pro bono to get her back on WOV. Now someone else could fine tune her slot play. From what I understand even the dumb "do you mind if I put my card in when you play" is sort of a low end AP hustle. So she has the right idea just doesn't know how to implement.
