It doesn't matter, they don't want you touching the boxes in fear that you could potentially swap one with a hack or something like that. There's potentially problems if they mix up the boxes/Bill validators between 2 different denomination machines. I don't know how it happens, but on rare occasions machines will give you multiple times the amount of credits it should be. It thinks it's a lower denomination. I.E. $100 gets you 400 credits on a dollar machine as if it was a .25.

I always wondered if this was because they put a programmed a .25 validator into $1 machine instead.
