Not surprised Florida has caught up to the general decline in free play and offers. This has been occurring in Vegas for 7-8 years now.
When my partner was alive, our machine play consisted of hitting a casino with a big coin in on one day. We would then get free play mailers (and food offers) for 6 months. we only picked up the free play (no additional play) so after 2 months it would decline a bit and after 4 a bit more, but the entire cycle was 6 months. And we would do this under both our accounts at 40 casinos.
The gravy train started to come to an end even before he passed. Casinos, lead by Boyd and stations here in Vegas were the first to cut back. Soon it just wasn't worth it. when my partner died, I just threw in the towel except a small handful of polaces that were still giving good offers. And then that fizzeled out too. And I was just too busy to run around picking up these smaller amounts.
Last year with some time on my hands, I thought I would try this play again. I picked a handful of places that people told me were still giving decent offers and hit them with a big coin in. When the offers rolled in, they were a tiny fraction of what we used to get for the same initial big coin in. And then even worse, the cycle was 2 months, not 6. If you only picked up the free play the cycle ended immediately. This made the whole play no longer +EV, so I gave up again.
What a difference from just a few years ago. And I think it all came down when these multi-carders got into action all over the country. They ruined a good thing.
