Thread: Brian Christopher slot room FAILS at Plaza, contract not renewed

  1. #1
Brian Christopher has had his contract non-renewed by Plaza.

    https://www.tiktok.com/embed/7510345294828047658

He left mostly amicably, as you can see above in the video.

Plaza had a ridiculous fantasy that Christopher's fans would flood into the room and make them tons of money.

Instead, it was perpetually empty. It's even possible that his room was a net negative to the plaza (even ignoring the money they were paying him for his branding), because it seemed people stayed out of there if they weren't fans of his, feeling they didn't belong. It also probably didn't help that it was non-smoking, which doesn't work downtown.

Most of Christopher's fans are not from Vegas, and his following simply isn't big enough to pack that room on a regular basis from occasional tourists.

Here's the press release for when the partnership started, in late January 2021: https://www.plazahotelcasino.com/wp-...a-Jan-2021.pdf

The also announced an extension of the partnership in early 2022: https://www.plazahotelcasino.com/wp-...d-Feb-2022.pdf

This makes me wonder why the contract ended at the end of May (January would make much more sense), and perhaps this was some sort of mutual parting.

Note that Christopher signed with BetMGM in 2024 to partner with them for online slots, so perhaps his obligations to Plaza somewhat interfered with what BetMGM wanted. Maybe he and Plaza decided it wasn't working out on both ends.

But there has to be a story here. No chance he just gave up free money on his own, with having his face all over the room there.

I stay at the Plaza (at least for a night) every other trip or so. That room always annoyed me because the Plaza has had some halfway decent video poker and decent offers, but that room to me was a waste of space and brought in people who don't really care if they win or lose. It went against the whole vibe of the place as a retro but somewhat serious gambling environment. You have Oscar's upstairs and the the good Happy Hour meal discounts in the lounge outside Oscar's, so some internet youngster hyping bad gambling downstairs always seemed off to me.

As you said, the branding clashed. And in a pretty obvious fashion. It was jarring and tonally inconsistent.

Brian Christopher's Slot failed because it was a bad Slot. Brian Christopher's Slot had horrendous payouts and his face symbol looked more like an everyday street bum instead of a Celebrity. EZ Slots did an expose on his slot and REALLY ragged and dragged Brian Christopher's Slot and even questioned something like,"Brian Christopher says that smoking is bad and is in fact the Spokesperson for an anti smoking campaign. WHY is his slots in the SMOKING section?" REALLY good point that Brian Christopher's Slot shouldn't have been in the smoking section when Brian Christopher said that smoking was bad and was the spokesman for an anti smoking campaign.

One thing I didn't like at all is that EZ Slots uploaded a picture of a Player who was just minding her own business playing the Brian Christopher Slot and put her picture in his YouTube video for everyone to see. I hate that. She didn't give her permission to be uploaded into this Brian Christopher Slot expose video. EZ Slots used her because she was smoking and playing "Anti smoking," Brian Christopher's Slot in the SMOKING section.

I'd be pissed if I were just minding my own business playing a slot and was uploaded to a YouTube video without my permission. In fact, I had someone upload my picture without my permission while I was just minding my own business playing roulette and put that picture on a public website. It maked me VERY uncomfortable.

Also, the Uploader also inadvertently filmed two other Players who were merely playing near me without their permission too and put THEIR pictures on that public website as well. These two people had no idea who I was or that their pictures are on this public website with me. REALLY bad. :/

Speaking of being uploaded without permission I saw a video where an Uploader filmed a Woman losing her money on a slot machine. She kept giving the camera a death stare. Posters said something like,"Oh my God, you filmed her losing her money? She should have cussed you out and then reported you to Casino Staff Members for harassment."

The Uploader responded,"She DIDN'T see me. I filmed her discreetly." How do you explain the death stare to the camera then? The video was deleted when I searched for it again. I surmise that she reported the video to YouTube stating that he filmed her losing her money without her permission and the video was deleted.

Another Slot Uploader had a GoFundMe for her sick parents. She got money from her Fans for the GoFundMe. Another Slot Uploader filmed her playing on a Slot machine playing $25 a spin after getting money from her Fans for the GoFundMe. He didn't ask her permission to film her playing $25 a spin after getting money from her Fans for the GoFundMe.

He uploaded the video of her playing $25 a spin and put it on YouTube. Her Fans were angry and disgusted that she was playing $25 a spin on a slot after getting money from her Fans for the GoFundMe. They cussed her out for this.

She said something like,"I'm an Adult who likes to gamble? What am I supposed to do? NEVER gamble again? Besides, the other Slot Uploader filmed me playing $25 on the Slot without my permission. You guys should be mad at and disgusted with HIM for filming me and uploading it to YouTube without my permission and not me.

Fans asked her if she was using the GoFundMe money meant for her sick parents and using that money to play $25 a spin on a slot. She responded that the money she was using to play $25 a spin on a slot was not the GoFundMe money, it was from free play that the Casino gave her and if she didn't use it that day she would lose it.

In a nutshell, people shouldn't be uploading people in Casinos who are just minding their own business. And Brian Christopher's Slot was a disaster.

I don't think the Brian Christopher section failed because the slots sucked.

I think he just wasn't enough of a draw to justify dedicating an entire room to him, and people probably felt weird going in there if they either didn't know who he was, or didn't understand the purpose of the room.

Also, what the Plaza missed is the fact that most people who watch slot channels aren't big slots players themselves. They live vicariously through the channels. Most people regularly visiting casinos don't find any thrill watching others gamble on YouTube.

Yep, Brian Christopher isn't a HUGE, world renowned Celebrity, he's a MINOR Celebrity. The Slot Room could have worked if it was a MAJOR Celebrity like say Michael Jackson who even after his death is still a major draw.

Never heard he had a slot room or a themed slot: I soon tired of the guy years ago, his videos were too manic and his voice is a bit grating.

I like Mr. Handpay and Stacey's High Limit Slots.

Agree. It would be like having a Dr Who slot room.

Dedicated fans but too niche & people who aren’t Dr. Who fans wouldn’t want to play in there.

I think it would have been smarter to have Brian Christopher slot events.

You know.. rope off an area of slots, pay Brian to show up and play there with people, and make it so anyone can stroll in and be part of it. At least that might drive some slot play, and be worth the money. An entire room existing 24/7 never made sense. The person who signed him to that didn't understand the audience of these slot channels.

It's all about living vicariously without actually spending money.

Speaking of spending, I'll be spending some time in the Plaza in August. Might I suggest an MDawg slot room, where if you beat the baccarat slot machine, you get tickets good for a plethora of fake watches? Or maybe a video slot like the Walking Dead arcade game -- if you drive your video RV through a crowd of spics, negroes, and down-on-their-luck immigrants, you win dinner outside at the circular bar where the Main Street homeless can watch you eat? Or how about KewlJ Quiz Machines. If you prove by answering 20 questions that you "know how things in LV work," you get a prostitute right-to-work pass and a one of those shirts (I have one) that say "I'm not gay, but $20 is $20."

The MDawg slot room is a very good idea.

While you’re in the room you could think you’re up $1,000,000 but when you leave find out you’re “about even”

If any of your friends ask how you could go from being up $1,000,000 to “about even” you could just tell them you were trying to unhide a thread at WOV

That would have been a better idea. Heck, people paid Dlucky at least $1,000 for some weird meet and greet where he promised to show them how to win on slots or some weird thing. I remember EZ Slots doing an expose on the weird Dlucky $1,000 meet and greet thing and People who participated in it were pissed that they lost their money. I could totally see a Brian Christopher Slot event working. Brian Christopher is more popular than Dlucky is and people would be having FUN at Brian Christopher Slot Events and not end up being pissed off.

That’s an excellent point & one I had not considered.

If you are pissed off about being pissed on then it would depend on the specifics of the situation.

For example if someone pissed on your brand new shoe, then the level you are pissed off about it may be worse than the piss on your shoe.

But if someone pissed on your head that could indeed be worse than how pissed off you are about it unless that was a service you specifically arranged.
