    Thank you, counselor.

Alright Karen, you heard it from your good "casino friend" as well as from me, your "Torquemada."

Has this wisdom percolated into that nappy noggin yet?

A guy said he was at an all you can eat breakfast and after breakfast, he left with a banana in his hand and Security nearly tackled him and then yelled at him for leaving the buffet with the banana..

But I'm pretty sure you can just ask for to go plates and take that up to your room and have free plates, napkins, and silverware.
That guy should have sneaked the banana under one of his folds of flesh. I take it as a given that someone at a Vegas buffet has mantits.

No, I'm trying to EDUCATE you as to how the world works.

Buffets do NOT allow patrons to leave with food, unless it is a box of take out without first being seated.

There are no exceptions for bananas, nor olives, nor pats of butter.

What, you think it's OK for you to stuff a few rolls into that hideous handbag after dining at Circus Circus buffet?

Today it's rolls, tomorrow you'll pilfer fried chicken and then steak, crab legs and eclairs.

Mr. V, I was actually editing my post with the newfound knowledge that leaving a buffet with a banana is generally considered a huge no no when you posted your post about leaving a buffet with food being a huge no no. I actually started to post about my newfound knowledge about leaving buffet with food being a huge no no, but my phone did a sudden and unexpected shutdown and reset on its own and I had to wait for the phone to be back up and running and then I finished editing the post. By the time my edit went through, your post was already done.

Thanks for clarifying that faux pas, Karen: you're back in my good graces now.

I will walk out of a buffet with small items like fruit or cookies. I won't typically take any of their plates or silverware. Though I probably should if these places are going to hit me with plateage fees.

I have never attempted (and will never attempt) to take hot food or anything substantial out of a buffet.

In general, I don't even like buffets, as they substitute quantity for quality.

Yep, I was surprised the Security Guards nearly tackled the guy and ended up yelling at him over a banana after a buffet, but according to Google, taking ANY food out of a buffet, even something as relatively small as a single banana is considered theft like if you were to go to a grocery store and walk out with a banana without paying for it.

I didn't know that taking food like banana out of a buffet was considered theft. I could see taking a full plate of food like pancakes, sausage, and eggs out of the buffet would be considered theft, but I didn't think taking a single banana out of the buffet would be considered theft as well.

Where is the source for this?

There are so many times that you mention "a guy" or "girl" saying this or that, or a casino having done this or that, when it turns out that the actual story doesn't even resemble what you claim.

I suggest sticking to posting URLs only and quoting directly from the source.

Sure but you didn't get tackled nor did anyone else. For fruit I imagine you just walk out with it openly in your hand. Maybe you put the cookies away, or at least wrap them in napkins. Little things like that they aren't going to enforce especially if you just paid almost $100. for the buffet. But the primary deterrence I suppose is that it is against policy and the knowledge that it is not allowed.

How about this one: going to the buffet with someone who doesn't eat. I've done that before, with a friend of mine who just isn't into eating. Period. Sat at the buffet and told the server that he might have some dessert but otherwise isn't going to eat, and the server not caring. I could have gotten the comp or done the room charge for any number of people, but why? if someone is not even going to eat. Most of the time though that friend of mine gets bored watching me eat and gets up to go gamble anyway.

I'd agree with you that a foodstuff at a good restaurant is going to be superior to the identical item at a buffet, for example lobster, crab legs, steak. Fish especially is usually going to be lower quality at the buffet than in a restaurant.

At a high end restaurant the crab legs or lobster are going to be good enough to warrant eating every bit, while at a buffet might just crack the leg open, pull at each end, and leave whatever remains inside alone. Everyone is different though, women in general or at least the girls I know aren't big eaters. My wife and others like her just don't like the idea of wasting food, and barely eat at all. I try to take very small portions of whatever I am taking and try to eat it all, but I'll go through a dozen plates of food at a buffet I exercise hard all the time and burn it up. But in general if you are not a big eater buffets aren't for you.

There are some high quality buffets in Vegas such as at Wynn, or Cosmo. No they're not serving A5 Wagyu, but a lot of their dishes are innovative or just plain good.

The inexpensive Vegas buffets seem to be gone, but when they were around, especially with player card discounts, I'd imagine a local would rather eat at one of those and just pick and choose a few items and leave quickly, versus eat at a fast food place, where the price might have actually been comparable. I don't think there is such a buffet around these days, the last would have been something like for example Palace Station Buffet? Over at GVR, the former buffet was converted into the new high limit.

The real problem with trying to sneak pancakes out of the buffet is that the syrup makes a huge mess in your purse.

The guy REALLY did say that Security nearly tackled him and then told him off for leaving with a banana in his hand after a buffet! I'm REALLY telling the truth!

To anyone who thinks I am lying about the guy who said he left the buffet with a banana in his hand and Security nearly tackled him and then told him off,

Read them and weep at Posters who said they witnessed similar things. Read in particular about the reply about the buffet guest who got cussed out for doing exactly what the guy I mentioned did.

Are you using “Read them and weep” in the correct context here?

In the history of your "A guy did this" "A guy did that" "A guy said this" "A guy said that" or "This happened at the casino" not once has, upon checking, whatever you claimed happened or was said even remotely resembled the actual statements made or events.

Let's just chalk it up to a memory that rivals that of AxelWolf's.

While of course this was written about UNKewlJ

Was going to BS, but taking a banana can be white privilege and his was revoked.
