Okay, LMAO!There're a lot of other details to what happened, but, I don't want to over-excite our resident MrV. Ha.I saw an ADT commercial when I was young where a Husband and a Father starts to leave his house to go to work and he sees some guy in a hoodie tying his shoe. The guy does a suspicious double take and the hoodie guy gives him a casual smile.I must have already told you guys about the time that I chased four gang members up the street. Three guys, one girl. I was sitting at the kitchen table, working on some Penrose tiles - in those days you couldn't bring them up on the internet, but these were new ones - when I heard a rustling at the door. I discovered them running off with my doormat. It was an expensive psychedelic bit of art, which I wasn't prepared to let go. They dropped it, and, then, kept running. A day or two later, I found myself walking up the street, with a carload of them keeping pace with me, for a block. One neighbor kept a loaded shotgun at his door, but, another, a bigger guy than me, was afraid of them, let them steal stuff off his clothesline, and, from around his house. Eventually, I put chains across my door, after a really big guy with a mohawk tried to kick in the door, late one night. Eventually, the cops rounded them up after one of them cracked open another neighbor's skull, with a baseball bat, because of a drug debt. I would have fought them if I had to, not that afraid.
The guy drives to work. The hoodie guy RUNS, JUMPS, and KICKS down the door and then leaves once he sees that a Woman is inside with her young Daughter. The Mother and Wife immediately gets a phone call from ADT and ADT mentions that they realized her door has been kicked in. She tells ADT that she is not all right because someone tried to break in. ADT sends someone to fix the broken down door and she is relieved. I told my own Mother something like,"What does she mean she's not all right? The guy left as soon as he realized it was already occupied after he kicked down the door. He didn't harm her or her young daughter, he just left.
My Mother said something like," What he did was still traumatizing even though he immediately left without harming them. I myself would have been traumatized if someone kicked down OUR door trying to break in even though he immediately left."![]()
