Baseball is a funny game. Astros go to LA and Destroy the Dodgers, outscoring them 29-6. Then they come home and lose twice to a team that had lost 11 straight games. And one of their aces got rocked in one of those games. Not a whole lot of consistency throughout the league with the exception of the Tigers. Teams we think are decent will win 5 or 6 in a row and then turn right around and lose 5 of 6 or 6 of 7.
We are only slightly past halfway point. 4 games out of wild card is nothing, especially with trade deadline coming up. Add one or two key players and you can make that up easily. I have never thought the Angels were that good, but I think you are giving up to easy and too early.
I am doing real well betting overs the past couple weeks. Not every game. there are 3-4 games with good pitchers that I throw out every day and then bet the over on 10 or so games, especially with weak pitchers, weak bullpens, and warm temperatures and wind blowing out or neutral.
BUT there is one thing about betting Overs that is really annoying me. In just the past few days, I have seen probably 8-9 runners get thrown out at home base, trying to score on a ground ball with less than 2 outs. And most of the plays aren't even close. They are out by a mile. I don't get the running on contact if there is less than 2 outs. Wait till the ball gets though or at least deep into the hole before trying to score. Instead these guys are taking off at contact and the ball is hit directly to an infielder already playing in and an easy out at home.It is a different game than when I played in HS. If we took off from third on contact, with less than 2 outs and were thrown out by 15 feet, we wouldn't be playing next game.
