$25-$65 per day is what they get paid. Don't forget the meal...
LOL. How's the wife treating you, Axel?
What I especially love is how the LVA highlights every modest meal, hotel discount, and coupon-running angle in the city, and has featured them for decades, but somehow the old Axelwolf doesn't shower that publication with digs. Why is that, do you think? I mean, if Axel finds my standard of living pathetic, I'm sure he has much to say about the pathetic pennyante aide provided by Mr. Flowers and his publication.
Ain't that right, Axel?
Great, thanks for asking. I guess a better question would be, how am I treating her? She just got annoyed at me for using 4 new washcloths to clean chainsaws and Bar Oil. Her, "You just grabbed brand new washcloths when there are old ones sitting right there."
I don't find your standard of living pathetic, as I too don't see anything wrong with being frugal and living in a way that makes you happy.
I do find your standard of earnings pathetic. Especially for a college football betting Guru, even back in 1995, $25 to $65 a day would be pathetic. I like how you round up by about $70 to defend your pathetic standard of earnings. As I disagree that $65 would be worth around $200 a day, I think it would be worth more like $130 nowadays. I'll let the economist specialist here post their arguments regarding that aspect.
I highly doubt anyone was getting paid $65 a day in 1995 for jury duty, at least not in the jurisdictions you are talking about. I'm thinking it's more like $40 tops.
I don't normally read any of that bullshit. I didn't even know there was an LVA Highlights. I do know, and I have read bits and pieces of the Las Vegas Advisor, but it's fairly rare, usually only if something points out something specific, or there's a particular Hot Topic I happen to be interested in.
I don't read or follow Frugal this or Frugal that; I don't follow any of that stuff. I don't read gambling books, and I rarely listen to any of the gambling podcasts.
Are there any good gambling coupons out there nowadays? I've run many thousands of coupons. There certainly isn't anything wrong with that as long as they are worthwhile. I know Anthony Curtis was pissed at me and a few others for years for ruining all his juicy gambling coupons. Perhaps I'll elaborate on that later but it's time to go now since my wife just made me breakfast.
