Another aspect to it is that some of the highest limit slots, even in LV, have very low RTPs. So some of the threshold configurations might be a lot lower than one would expect.

But I didn't know they were making that kind of money with their videos and whatnot. I assumed they had an insider source or a just a good math guy that was figuring out the playable numbers on high RTP slots.

Fwiw I've never watched any of their stuff, have just heard about it second hand.

I know both of their identities and their backgrounds. Obviously I'm not going to reveal any of it, because it's their private business. I like both of them.

You have to understand that Vegas Matt is a business. Clearly they're not just firing off big $ on -EV slot machines for shits and giggles, or just for YouTube notoriety. When you see a sponsorship or hear rumors that they're getting special treatment by El Cortez or wherever, you need to understand that it's all part of the game. Casinos are built on favortism. Comps are based upon favortism. You are not owed anything as an AP -- not from the casinos, and not from other APs. You need to make your own way.

The only things I really frown upon in the AP world are:

- Scamming/deception of other APs
- Harassment/tricking of ploppies (such as predatory vulturing)
- Outright cheating (there's a big difference between advantage play and cheating) or theft
- Selling phony or exaggerated "systems" to the public
- Biting the hand that feeds you by spreading advantage information you were given to too many people, thus prematurely ruining the play for everyone

But Vegas Matt doesn't do any of this.

He isn't selling bullshit systems, isn't pretending to be something he's not, isn't scamming anyone, isn't bothering ploppies, and isn't ruining things for other APs.

I think some people get angry at him because they see him racking up huge views while appearing to lose big money gambling, when in reality he's getting enough on the back end to overcome that and actually profit. So to some people, especially APs, that feels inauthentic. However, Matt never denies he's making money from this venture. Basically, what he's doing is victimless.

He found a good formula. He created a slot channel which works because the stakes are high, he has a good personality, and his sidekicks are endearing. It's also nice to see that an older guy was able to succeed with a channel like this. It's a refreshing change from the channels where hot chicks spin slots, and the entire draw to the channel is for pervs to drool over them. It's 60-year-old Matt with his son and middle-aged sidekicks, and they're succeeding strictly based upon the content itself.

EJ is somewhat of a lightning rod because people think he exerts excessive authority. But someone has to do it, and Matt doesn't have the inclination to make all the decisions. I think the four of them have excellent chemistry, all considered.
