But actually no, for $200 if he pays it back he won’t have legal trouble.

It was not actually a glitch or loophole, its the way banks work. Many banks will give you access to deposited funds via check immediately before the check goes through.

People who abuse that privilege not only risk legal consequences, but they can lose their ability to qualify to have checking accounts & have to use check cashing stores instead of banks.
Hmm. A guy apparently wrote himself a fake check for around 99 billion dollars and now is negative by 99 Billion dollars. The guy called Chase asking if they could reverse the negative 99 Billion dollars and the Chase Bank representative LAUGHED at him for being stupid enough to write himself a fake check for 99 Billion dollars!

LMAO! But in all honesty, he was stupid to write himself a fake check for 99 Billion dollars. He should have known Chase would be putting his Account in the red when they found out the 99 Billion dollar check was fake.

Another guy said something like,"Thank God I wasn't stupid enough to write a fake check for 99 Billion dollars. I was smart enough to only write a fake check for $300. Another Poster said something like,"The guy who wrote a fake check for $300 was stupid too, not smart. I don't know why this idiot thought that making a fake check for $300 was smart of him to do."

I, Tasha responded something like,"He wasn't stupid. He could easily reimburse the stolen $300 with his next paycheck. The $300 he stole was technically a short term loan that he could pay back quickly." Other Posters pointed out that I made a good point.

Back in the day you could kite checks all the time. Need groceries but don’t get paid for a couple of days?

You write a check at the grocery store for the groceries today or booze or whatever & by the time the check cleared the bank the money would be in there.

Back in the day some people did a similar trick with credit cards. They were broke and their credit card got canceled because they didn’t pay it, were over the limit, etc. they would just find a small merchant that didn’t have the computerized swiper that checked on the card but instead had the manual tray that made an imprint of the card with carbon paper.

What do you mena he's "negative by 99 billion dollars?"

Surely the bank never paid him that amount and surely there is no obligation for him to reimburse the bank that amount.

Please explain what you mean to say...if possible...yes, that's asking a lot I suppose but put your thinking cap on and really try.

Surely you know by now that her name is Tasha or Karen, it’s not Shirley, although I guess it could be.

I had an inkling that Posters would question him writing a fake check for 99 Billion dollars. What people were doing was writing fake checks and wiring the fraudulent money to other sources such as Cryptocurrency.

I myself YEARS ago did a check kiting for around $42. The check bounced and I ended up being charged almost $230(The supermarket charged me around $70 and my Bank charged me around $150) and I was put on a check blacklist where I am put as a red flag to not be able to pay with checks anymore. :/ At least I wasn't writing and depositing fake checks for huge amounts and then withdrawing it like what the people who did the Chase Bank check glitch fraud were doing.

Back in the day the trick was knowing exactly how much float time you had before you attempted it.

And overdraft protection never hurt either.

So Tasha, are you seriously claiming the guy got 99 billion dollars of crypto currency by writing a bad check to buy it?

    Seriously?

If not, then as I asked how EXACTLY was the guy "negative by $99 Billion?"

Your claim implies he was paid that and that now he has to repay it: complete bullshit.

But did the guy ACTUALLY GET $99B of crypto by writing a hot check to pay for it?

Certainly not...I suppose the bank could denote the move in any way it sees fit, but the bottom line is that the schmuck never actually got $99B of crypto via a hot check: THAT is my point.

He did get $99 Billion worth of crypto but because the pricing bubble had already collapsed on that particular crypto, it only cost him a few cents.

V, I recently ran into you posting on the wizards free for all website...I love the battles with the card carrying nambla member and the cat fucker. Both those guys should be on a variety of lists. Especially the guy posting crotch shots of his cats. LOL, keep up the good fight.....
