It happens, and a lot recently. I feel invincible....anybody would after all this. But no way it goes to my head. That's the control part. I never stray from my belief that winning $5 is better than losing anything. So I leave at a point where I feel I could not get any luckier.

I did not play any particular strategy this time out. So no soft profits were involved. I did not play for points, for freebies, or for slot card status. I simply did what any strong player would do: I played to win some money.
So, I feel pretty good now. My wife and I were invited to a Diamond Appreciation luncheon and I received $10 and turned it into$20 thanks to 4 9's. I received $20 the next A.M. and started not to go but had an hour to kill so I turned it into $30 thanks to 4 7's. So, we went to another nice dinner-on me! BP rocks on free-play.
Almost forgot. I QUIT playing after the free play was used.

You mean you didn't say you'd be happy with half that amount just so you could stay on for more casino action? WTF??

Rob, for someone who just posted how they brought $2,000 to a casino with no plan or strategy, how can you fault someone for taking half of their wins and using it towards the possibility of winning more?

You know what? I'm for once getting sick of playing. It used to be fun and quads came fairly often. Now it's like pulling teeth-they deaden you so you don't feel the pain and you're just glad to get out.

Don't give up sling. I spent almost 3 hours playing nothing but dollars & $2 on whatever machine I felt like today. I didn't win a lot--just $590--but unlike the few here who want it to be that I create these stabbing pictures out of thin air just to irritate them, I won, and these hands are why. It almost seemed like a "twos-day"

That's strange=I had one nickel machine that whenever I got to ddbp at 25 credits I hit 4 2's-once with the kicker. This happend for about 3 sessions on 3 different visits.. The last 3 times it's been 4 9's-at bp.

I hit quad aces in Royal Aces Bonus Saturday night at Rincon and I posted two photos of the aces in the thread on Royal Aces Bonus, and one of them is repeated below. I love that game because quad Aces pays the same as a Royal Flush and quad aces occur about ten times more often than a royal. On the other hand, the pay table will kill you if you don't hit the aces or quads quickly and often.

A forum member told me that another forum member has become very suspicious about all of the "big wins" that are posted here -- and questions why no one ever talks about their losses. So I would like to set the record straight on what happened Saturday night:

First, I went to Rincon with a total of $410 of free play available from various promotions. I played it once through on 8/5 Aces and Faces and cashed out $400. That doesn't come close to my win goal, so I switched machines... to anther 8/5 Aces and Faces game and this time I ran up the credits to $980. That's when I said "I will cash out at $1,000." Yes, famous last words. Because the next thing I knew the $980 was gone, and I was at the cage to withdraw $500 from my checking account.

As a 7Stars player there is no fee for using an ATM card at the cage.

This time, I decided to play Royal Aces Bonus. $500 went in. I had a pretty decent run on the game thanks to quad 8s and a couple of straights and two full houses. I was also dealt four to the royal twice, and trip aces three times... but alas that $500 was soon gone.

So back to the cage for another $500... and again no fee. I put one $100 bill in, and on the second play caught the quad aces. (See the photo below showing $90 of the $100 that was deposited for my second try.) $4,000 win less $510 of my own money. But I had played this machine earlier in the week and lost $1500. I'm still ahead. But over two sessions the $4,000 had a "cost" of about $2,000.

Aces are the name of the game, so congratulations are in order once again.

This picture below, of yet ANOTHER royal that people will immediately become so jealous over, was hit at a grocery store (Smiths) this week....but sadly it isn't mine. My sister, who has only been in one casino in her life, has a knee problem so when we went grocery shopping I gave her two hundred bucks to sit down and play QUARTERS. But because she has no skills at the game and got confused, she ended up playing DOLLARS and hit this! (No way would I have ever held a suited 10). I let her pay the $328 for groceries, she gave me the $200 back, and she kept the rest to take home to her family in Philadelphia.

It runs in the family Like them apples eddie? Oh c'mon, stop drooling. You'll get your chance to play AS HIGH AS DOLLARS someday too!!

What do you mean you wouldn't hold the suited ten? Of course you would hold the suited ten! I need you to explain why you wouldn't hold the suited ten in Bonus poker?????

  13. #733
That's correct, I view it as a bad "optimal" hold (aka, special play) and have probably saved thousands in my lifetime by not doing so. Never had the drawn cards made me sorry. I would have never hit a royal had I held the suited 10. I know people have hit them this way and my unwitting sister did just that, but I've probably made twice that amount of money by not doing it. But I was very glad for her, and all she could do was worry about the tax implications of the W2G. After a two minute explanation, her mind was at ease.

Twice I hit royals holding QT.

This time your special play is ridiculous -- telling us to hold only a queen.

I have been wondering about what others thought about holding the suited 10 to a two card royal draw and never asked. So now I am asking, is that the right play? I generally do not hold the ten even in BP.

  16. #736
You hold QT, KT, JT in Bonus. In double double bonus as well. As long as you don't have another paying pair. The exception is A-Ten -- you don't hold ace ten unless you have a third royal card to go with it.

  17. #737
What-are you guys kidding. I hold the A-10 for crying out loud. You can STILL hit 4 A's and I've hit 4 10's twice. You go, girl!

Question. When a gambling addict hits a jackpot hand in a grocery/convienience/gas station ect. store does the store actually pay out the dough on the spot?

I know exactly what you're talking about. Several years ago I was playing in a live poker tournament at Harrah's in Vegas. During the lunch break I went downstairs (the tourney was in a ballroom) and played some video poker. I played the bank of machines with a $1 double double bonus progressive. I was dealt Ah Th and following correct strategy I did not hold the Ten. You know what happened: the first three cards on the draw were the Jh Qh Kh for the royal... if I had held that ten.

To this day I remember that and have to think twice about not holding the suited ten when I have the Ace.

For you, maybe, but only because you've hit two royals with the 10. But you do play an awful lot so we will never know if it's helped or hurt you. For my sister, definitely, because she may never play again. But not ridiculous for me, since it's a play that's made me money over the years. You see, people who immerse themselves in theory instead of reality always have trouble seeing the balance sheet for what it is when all is said and done. That's why I teach players that each casino visit is and will always be, totally unrelated to any that have already occurred, or any that have yet to come. Funny thing....That's the same for any given hand also.
