This story involves people making bets on inside information involving fixed prop bets. Las Vegas being Las Vegas, of course some wagers were made in Las Vegas. BUT the vast majority of them were made at off shore books. The second part to the story involves professional athletes or ex-professional athletes setting up poker games that were fixed, using all these different cheating methods. These games were set up all over the country, Most in the New York City area, but at least 1 in Miami, one or more in the Pacific Northwest and one or more in Las Vegas. They were after degenerate gamblers for these games, so of course some games were set up in Las Vegas. You would think Southern California as well, although I haven't seen it mentioned.
BUT the bottom line is that this is NOT a Las Vegas gambling story or scandal as redietz seems to be implying. And I have seen no mention of "the Las Vegas" mob that Redeitz likes to talk about. Didn't he claim he has a girlfriend from a Las Vegas mob family? IIRC, he threatened me with that at one point.
Look, this redeitz poster (Bob Dietz) is a tout. He is NOT a professional gambler (AP). He is NOT a professional sports bettor as he claimed for many years. He is or was a TOUT, selling sports picks. And that required him to spend some time in Las Vegas where he found these "clients or marks". Hence the "100 days a year in Vegas" comments.
The guys lives in East Bumblefuck (Bumble) Tennessee, in hillbilly land Appalachia, NOT Las Vegas. What does THAT tell you?

And about this 100-days-a-year in Vegas claim, lately he seems to take 2-3, 3 to 4 night trips to Vegas a year, just like many tourists/degen gamblers and isn't even spending 100 days. So enough about this clown and his Las Vegas expertise. If he wants to share the breaking News from East Bumblefuck Tennessee, he can. I don't see him and his journalism degree as qualified for anything more.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now I do live in Las Vegas....365 days a year. (less a couple weeks on out of town trips I guess). I don't claim to know everything that happens or is going on in Vegas. Dan Druff seems to like to keep up on that and that is fine. Nothing wrong with that. What I make it my business to know and learn are things involving the specific AP plays I engage in.
And the only part of this story that I see that is even slightly related to what I do is some of the talk about the rigged shuffle machines and how easy it is to hack them and take control of them. Believe me, that isn't new to me, I discussed that, along with some personal incidents, years ago. I think I said 5 years ago earlier, but it has been longer, probably 7-8 now. Absolutely nothing new about these shuffle machines and the ability to rig games. That is old news. I am not saying, nor have I ever said that every shuffle machine in every casino is rigged. But they have that ability (which they never should have had) and I know from experience of several cases where a few were rigged for at least a short period.
End of story, except of course updates, from the know-it-all in East Bumblefuck Tennessee.
