Thread: Slate article about whether or not Vegas is "dead"

  1. #81
Anyway, I am just kind of cranky today I guess. Rainy day again, I think about the 5th out of last 7, which I don't think has ever happened while I have lived here and more importantly it is F1 race weekend.

Big event (and holiday) weekends are good for me and how I play now. It allows me to play in the shadow of bigger bettors. F1 weekend is NOT! The strip and surrounding area is all torn up and it is harder to maneuver about, plus F1 people, much like the rodeo people that come in another 2 weeks are not gamblers. So it doesn't even result in the crowded conditions I seek. So F1 is just a big pain in the ass. To get some play in, I will have to go somewhere off strip and that means lower limits qand max bet and winnings. Fucking F1 loonies! Ruin a perfectly good Vegas fall weekend.

Dan Druff knows nothing about me Rob. Same as the rest of you, which I have worked hard to have be the case.

Druff recently stated that he doesn't know my name, doesn't know where I live other than Vegas because my IP and internet ping to a central LV location. Additionally, he doesn't know how I play, what limits I play, or if I even play at all.

The bug Druff has up his ass is that he doesn't think I was honest about the backroom incident. I was honest about the incident but he is very correct that I was not honest about the aftermath. At that point I was trying everything and anything to misdirect people from the incident and information about me. Druff has made statements like I should just not say anything, but unfortunately in this case I had revealed the incident when I had decided not to pursue anything and then when I changed my mind it was a little too late to "not say anything", so I did what I had to do. I don't apologize for that.

As a matter of fact it comes right back to what I have been discussing today. A real, fulltime or professional player (whatever term you want to use), sometimes has to do things to protect themselves and be able to continue to play. And yes, this is why most AP don't share too much, but I like to share some of my experiences and sometimes doing so puts me in a bind.

But Rob Singer, YOU know nothing about anything involved in being a real professional winning AP or player. You and Dawg are just losing gamblers telling a fairytale to make themselves feel better. I am assuming you are severely constipated again Rob, because you are talking shit out your mouth again!

Keep hotel prices the same. Those are fine.

Drop resort fees. Just charge one set price. Even if you end up charging the same overall, people will appreciate it.
Several years ago there was a bill introduced in Congress (or maybe just talk of a bill) that would eliminate hidden fees like resort fees and all the hidden fees that airlines use and force hotels and airlines to have one price that they advertise.

What happened to that bill? It disappeared. Probably congress changed hands and the side more friendly to big business took over.
    It passed last year.

The full price (other than taxes) is showed at the time of search, but the fees still exist in the breakdown, which annoys people.

Well then airlines are not adhering to it. When I am looking for a flight, usually on a discount airline like spirit or frontier, I see an advertised price. But when I go to book, you have to pick a seat, at an additional fee. The seat is not included in the price. So this bumps up the price much higher than the advertised price.

The only way this would fall within the law is if you can opt not to pick a seat. Like choose to stand for the flight, which obviously you can't, (nor would I want to).

Just saying that "extra" seat charge is not included in the price.

There is no way you've booked more than two of those flights without figuring out that you can in fact book a seat without an additional fee, they just assign you a middle one day before/day of unless it's a pretty empty fight. You're forced to pay to pick a seat if you refuse to chance a middle seat, yes, but otherwise no.

They're all doing that now, Delta, etc, all of them if you want to guarantee not getting middle you pay extra. The baggage thing is pretty much the only tangible difference at the lowest ticket level between most airlines now.

Just for fun, I just went to Spirit and started booking a flight for Dec 4. The advertised price is $206.68. Next comes seat selection. Every seat on the plane has an additional price between $21 and $28 (more if you choose seats with extra space). There is no place to opt out of picking a seat that I see, nor can you go to the next step without picking a seat at an additional price, which brings the price above the advertised price.

Ok, I do see an option to skip picking a seat and one will be assigned. Never noticed it. Happy to admit I never saw that option. It is pretty small print. So that means a seat will be assigned at $0 cost?

Doesn't really apply, because I always pick a seat and usually a front seat.

Well good, I am glad that this bill passed for both airlines and hotels adding extra fees. they will figure some kind of work around it though.

add on: While I am happy to admit I was wrong and didn't see this no select option, I think they have intentionally made it like that, which isn't exactly in the spirit of the law. I am sure there are many people, especially older folks that do not realize they don't HAVE to pick a seat.

Just admit you were WRONG this time and don’t try to justify it. Nothing wrong with being wrong occasionally. Could be worse, you could be accused of sitting in a chair and jacking off while a sand nigger that legally owns you fucks his white wife.

lol you are so obsessed with this image of yourself. APs are pretty cold about it and just look at their hourly and such from what I can see. I'd rather go to work 5 days a week and make 300k than grind my ass off 40 hours a week to make 100k. Easy decision. I've been on both sides. Many people can and will look up to either one.

In your case apparently you have to play on weekends at night at something very very repetitive and boring.

Poker can be fairly boring - specifically nlhe but even then it isn't near as repetitive as counting cards.

You can't even just sit there and dick around on your phone waiting for hands - you have to be on top of the count constantly.

    For $50 an hour?

You realize you have to be a pretty lowly person to think that is something to look up to. Counting cards is cool in its own way but far better to just go in there and slam it hard and gamble a +EV spot. Generate your bankroll somewhere else.

Making some sort of lifetime career out of red chip counting seems like a recipe for wanting to commit suicide. Seriously.

I personally look at my years as a professional gambler as wasted years. Had I done the things I had started out to do I'd been far better off than I am now and even then I'm doin' all right all things considered.

Why wouldn't you just go to the strip any way? It can't be that hard to park somewhere and use the tram or whatever.

You know I find this funny in multiple ways.

By all reports this weekend, the F1 weekend, is filled with high end players at Wynn and Venetian dumping money daily. It’s why F1 is here.

For a smart player it’s a HUGE opportunity to blend in as a drunk foreigner ordering drinks, betting irrationally and ignoring the count.

But what do I know? I’m just a low level weekend warrior making extra money in my retirement.

    Sorry, but this is nonsense.

I've gone over this many times. You ADDED needless details to your story. Adding fiction later in the story doesn't make you more difficult to find. It just pads the story with bullshit.

I would have no problem if you "lied" by changing around dates, times, or even the name of the casino. But the bullshit added in the second half of the story was at best padding for attention, and at worst the entire thing was false. We will never know.

I've stated before that I don't know if you really are a blackjack AP or not. Maybe you are, maybe you aren't, and maybe you are but some of your stories are exaggerated. Again, we will likely never know.

That said, you have left multiple liars spew their stories on your other forum for years with ZERO verification.

Your busting on KJ is funny while you have allowed Jew haters like Sonatine and BCR to call you a Jew is almost hilarious.

I truly encourage everyone here, including Coach to come over to Druff’s other forum where he is the cuck and call him out. Especially Rob who would own the liberals there who for some reason own Druff.

Come on guys, join Poker Fraud Alert and call the cuck Druff is out.

It's not enough for Boz to spam PFA with his sonatine obsession, but he's now bringing it over here, where 99% of the posters/readers have no idea who sonatine is.

    Dumb.

By the way Mickey owns the losers over there.

Even Coach would have a field day with the losers who own Druff there.

So you are saying you actually have 100 posters here and Mickey isn’t one of them.

Just showing you are exaggerating or are full of shit.
