Thread: Coach Belly vs LoneStarHorse wager

  1. #61
Yep, that's me. I bet $40 on the Super Bowl, and Rob just won't believe it.

Coach, Rob made fun of arci for the small amounts he made playing video poker. He's poked fun at me for "only" playing at quarter denominations, which would generate comparable W2Gs as what you showed. That was what I was explaining. I meant no disrespect to the amounts or quantity you gamble.

I suspect that at $1250 W2G is uncommon for quarter play, but very common at another denomination.

Yes, so you're probably holding better W2Gs in reserve. I understand that (since I don't always, always play quarters). But if you were on Rob's "enemies" list, he'd be all over you for not being able to provide evidence of big wins.

Someone just pointed out to me that I am incorrect -- Rob is fine with his friends playing low denomination vp. He has problems with arci, myself, and several others playing at low denominations. I stand corrected.

But I still don't understand why he doesn't believe I bet $40 on the Super Bowl.

I never claimed big wins, I never made claims about any results.

I've provided definitive proof that I do gamble...don't you agree?

I made $20 on the super bowl. Bet my teenage son and his friend $5 each in the Denver/NE game and took Denver straight up. To let them off the hook I offered to take Denver straight up in the SB double or nothing. Of course I made them each pay up. I can provide a written statement from the boys if needed for proof.

I bet nothing on the Super Bowl, but I did enter LoneStar's contest.

We would need a signed affidavit from the minors' parent or legal guardian.

I will gather the proper paperwork and have it duly notarized. I would rather not put this type of sensitive information online, we can meet at 2:45 am on Feb 19th, at the back entrance of Dotty's Casino on W. Sahara. I will be wearing a striped sweater and a truckers had that says "free mustache rides".

Typical selective assertion. I made fun of arci because he has always portrayed being some big deal type of advantage player who made "enuf to pay for a new GMC Terrain in cash". He was dumb enough to prove otherwise.

    I sure can.

Is this a new bet? First let's square up on the current bet.

It looks like you didn't visit AC last year, are you sure you're going this year?

I want to make sure that you're bringing my winnings.

I'll check back later, I'm out late tonight.

That's not nice, LoneStar. It looks a little like Beirut, but that's okay. I have some AC remembrances -- like refusing to leave the hotel room during a San Diego/Oakland Monday night game because I didn't want to miss a play -- while my compadres were occupying the beds with a couple of working girls. I sat on the end of the bed and refused to leave until halftime because we were on a high floor and I didn't know how long the elevator would take to get to the bar downstairs. They tried to charge me a "voyeur" rate, and I told them to forget about it -- I was watching the game.

I have fond memories of AC. A 62 minute roll at the craps table leaves a few memories. I make a stop there anytime I am at Monmouth on the Jersey Shore.

Granted it has deteriorated but I still like the proximity to the water.

Sixty two minutes is a world class once in a lifetime event.

Actually--not my best. I had an hour 4o minute roll at flamingo; several hour 20 minute rolls at flamingo and caesars; numerous over an hour rolls. I used to love the old long tables at Flamingo.

But---and that is the big but-- those were when I played almost every day and, at the risk of re-visiting some previous threads, had a controlled throw. Now that I play one or 2 times a year, I have no ability to influence the dice at all.

In those days I practiced religiously and when I threw the dice, I had no interaction of any kind with other players or people. I zoned myself off. No hi-5's; no knuckle pumps; pure concentration.

The longest roll I ever had, personally, was just about 45 minutes.
The longest roll I was at a table for lasted about 1-hour, 15-minutes. And that was an approximate time because I didn't note the exact start time.
I always glance at my watch when I shoot.

    I mentioned this before:

Once I was at a craps table and a shooter had the dice and he went on a tear -- hitting numbers and points. Everyone at the table made good money. When his roll was over I asked the base dealer and the two other players how long they thought the shooter's roll lasted? They all said it was something like 25 minutes. The time was actually about 11 minutes.

My point: people really have no concept of time at a craps table.

Another story that I heard from a pit boss at Caesars and I only repeat what I was told, as I can't verify it: Despite all the reports about about monster hands, there were two guys at Caesars who were at a table during an electronics convention. One guy held the dice for close to four hours. They were ten dollar bettors. They each made a couple of hundred bucks. It was a day when the casino was virtually empty. No noise, no crowd, just the two of them. No headlines. No media coverage. That's the story.

    Wow. That is really something.

The claim I made was in 2010. So no, you don't have any evidence at all. Maybe you can jump in on the bet I just offered mama belly. Just send Alan $500 and we can get started.

Tax returns are no longer acceptable to prove gambling wins,
since millions of folks no doubt do not write off losses against W2Gs that they received.

The standard is now win/loss statements.

They are free to acquire, free and easy to post...there's even a whole thread dedicated to that.
