Bob Dietz? Is that you redietz? You're right there on the first page.
Yeah Now try to get proof that the redietz poster is the same guy. I'm really "Brad Johnson" in case I never mentioned it.

Has anyone here met you to confirm that your name is R.E. Dietz? For all we know, you assumed the identity of someone named R.E. Dietz.

    Now I am being facetious.

I believe you are R.E. Dietz and why wouldn't I? And what would the difference be if your name isn't really R.E. Dietz? Your name doesn't help me. But the information you share here could help me.

Same with Rob Singer. I know Rob Singer's real name. But when I call him on the phone he is Rob Singer. If we are meeting in a casino or at a restaurant his name is Rob Singer.

By the way, over the years I have worked with a LOT of TV news reporters who do not use their real names. But in public their "air names" are the names we use.

What's in a name, anyway? Just don't call me late for dinner.

Who the hell would adopt the middle name "Earl?" for no reason? Besides, academic journals don't allow pseudonyms, so I guess I'm me.

Anyone who wants my identity is welcome to it. Per day rental. The cost is a coffee and danish from Caesars Palace. I offered Rob a deal where he "quoted" me (completely incorrectly, which is illegal), and I told him if he found me having said that, I'd pay him a thousand. If not, he owed me a coffee and danish. Rob refused the bet (or he's still looking), which leads me short some coffee and danish.

Yeah, no pseudonyms in academic journals.

That would be me, hiding in plain view beyond the ken of crack CIA dudes like a certain Rob Singer. I guess listing that I had won the invitation-only Wise Guys Contest was a clever red herring to throw people off the trail of looking for the Wise Guys Contest. I must be a friggin' genius.

Let's see. I'd probably have to actually meet Alan or Dan at some point. Plus I may have already met other people from this forum, but just haven't blabbed about it. Oh wait, that's right, I have. Silly me, it slipped my mind.

Rob, you really have issues, man. If you just steered clear of this martingale "I'm the greatest vp player ever" malarkey, you'd have real contributions to make. But you just can't give up the idea that you're some video poker genius.

Here's the rub, my friend. Some of your discipline rants, some of your no-tipping rants, some of your historical summaries -- they are all intelligent, bordering on really bright and really useful stuff. But you need this whackjob mythology you've constructed.

Arci always said you projected everything. I think the whole "come clean, coward" stuff is self-referential. You should just come clean about the nonsense, and stick to the real knowledge you've acquired over decades. People are generous. Many will forgive you the nonsense. Put away the quackery and become an elder statesman.

Red, you're using incomplete selective reasoning in order to continue ducking the issue.

Did you provide proof of identity to anyone whom you are now using revisionist history about, to step up and verify your true name? And by doing that here is the only way you'll ever get yourself out of the pressure cooker you've unwittingly put yourself into.

Oh....simply putting a link up that has the name you claim to be is of no added value. And you also claim many accolades "from the past". Are you related to mickey?

LOL. Rob, I appreciate the fact that you don't believe I'm me. It's a boost to my ego, actually, so thanks. You do realize you're sounding pretty bananas to anyone reading this?

Everyone is waiting with bated breath for the Singer links. C'mon, man, you gotta have a couple.

Rob, are there any professional gamblers willing to vouch for your credentials? How about casino execs? Anybody currently at Gaming Today willing to go to bat for you?

Let me mention this which might sum up the issue:

redietz you have never provided on the forum or to anyone I know that you are indeed the redietz you refer to in the articles, websites, contests.

Frankly, I think you are. But some others want you to establish that link.

And if you don't it's okay with me too.

And you, Mr. Mendelson, have never established that you are the Alan Mendelson of Alan's Best Buys. Personally I think you're Richard Gere's evil twin, and you've done something nefarious to the real Mendelson. We'll need a blood test for genetic markers. And it could be the prez masquerading as Rob Singer, for all we know. Except Rob has more tact.

Not to worry. Some of the stuff has my photo, and presumably I'll see you or Dan in person someday soon. I have met folks from this site in person in Las Vegas, but I'm not going to ask them to vouch for me, as I did not get a blood test for genetic markers.

I was going to suggest I post some photos of my scrotum to be properly identified at a later date, but my beer belly is drooping over it right now, so a good, clean photo is nigh impossible.

I should be in Las Vegas a good chunk of the summer, so I shouldn't have any trouble running into you sometime or meeting Dan to shake his hand or something. But still, I could be an evil twin, or a doppelganger, or a clone. Or surgically altered. You can never really be sure.

redietz, by deflecting the issue to be about Alan, all you're doing is digging a deeper hole.

You've made multiple proclamations about "meeting up with Alan in the coming months when I'll be playing 25c vp at the Palms" that never materialized. So what makes you think anyone believes you this time.

And as far as proof of identity---Alan has put plenty of pictures of himself with jackpots and accompanying, identifying W2G's....and so have I. And because you don't have the funds to be playing higher than quarter video poker--and you continually boast of great gambling accomplishments that you refuse to provide simple links for--you've been asked to put up a redacted picture of you DL. You refuse to do that. 2+2=4. And a phony is a phony.

LOL -- is that a dig at my video poker play? I haven't played at the Palms in many months. About 99.9% of my gambling is sports. I'm actually proud that I'm ahead 5K lifetime playing video poker. How many dudes on this site are ahead lifetime at vp? And I'm a rank amateur. I just follow the rules.

Now I understand that you are trying to suggest that playing 25-cent vp makes me a low roller scum. Rob, I am proud to be a low roller scum. However, it may be possible, maybe, that my sports betting isn't quite low roller mode. Now I'm not guaranteeing anything, but there is that slight possibility. You let me know if you want to make some kind of wager along those lines, as offshore records are permanent.

The only person asking me to put up a redacted driver's license is you. Pretty funny, dude. "I've been asked" -- passive voice. Alan will get my stuff in 60 days, and I'll make an effort to intro myself to either him or Dan this summer. So when every single thing I said turns out to be true, I guess you'll want to apologize and buy me some danish and coffee, eh?

Where can you get Danish at Caesars Palace?

Not sure you can, other than Starbucks danishes, since the coffee shop 70 yards from the sports book went full-fledged Starbucks. In its previous incarnation, they had danishes in baskets on the left as you stood in line for coffee. I liked the raspberry, although they were pricey. Even when that shop did the changeover to Starbucks, at first they kept those baskets for awhile. I took a look last time but didn't get a thorough inspection (as the line was too long), and I think those baskets were gone, so we're stuck with Starbucks danishes, which are okay, but not nearly as good as the ones in the baskets.

The pre-Starbucks shop had those coffee stirrers with Caesars' heads on them. They were one of my fave things in LV. Now they are gone.

Brioche by Guy Savoy is not bad--tho you may need a second mortgage for coffee and a pastry

I've actually started going there instead of Starbucks. Less of a line and their coffee is better.

I'm surprised you're praying for her after what she did to you.

I understand why you don't want to wish her badly. However, she does not seem to be a good person, and she really did a lot of bad and nasty things to you.

If I were in your shoes, my attitude would be, "I'm not going to wish death upon her, but if she were to die, I wouldn't cry."

It's hard to know what really happened between them that caused such drastic and unpleasant circumstances---for both of them, and remember, we've never heard Janet's side of this unfortunate story. But it's also hard to disagree with Dan. In fact, although this type of thing would never happen to me, if it had, her cancer would not be her most pressing problem.

  19. #199
I see both Rob and Dan's points. But I also see it as a good thing, Alan, that you aren't harboring ill will. To do that hurts you not her. As long as whatever she did to hurt you is in the past and not ongoing efforts on her part, then take whatever you've learned from this awful experience and move on and focus on you and what is best for you and your life.
