It's luck that your expert knowledge coincides with the shuffle, or the roll, or the spin, or the choice of the RNG.

This is only true of the short run...a small sample size. Once you get into the long run, the math takes over and the variance (or what you are calling luck) associated with the short run or small sample size, no longer matters. Now we can argue exactly what constitutes the "long run" or a big enough sample size that "luck" or bad variance no longer matters. That is for the math guys to figure out with formulas and such.

But I know in blackjack, I have had 4 different six month periods that I have made no money. That is playing almost everyday, (5-6 days a week), 30,000-40,000 rounds. Zero profit. Each of these 6 month periods consisted of an initial backwards trend and then recovery back, but still net zero for 6 months. And in each of these years, I still had significantly winning years, and in all but once case very close to expectation for the year.

Alan I know you won't be able to relate to this example, but it is a clear indication that short-term, in this case up to six months, variance or "luck" matters, but get into the longer run and the math takes over. It has to! It is impossible for it not to.

Another example, flip a coin 10 times. It wouldn't be that unusual for 8 head or tails out of those 10 flips. But flip a coin 1000 times and you are aren't going to see 800 heads or tails. At some point the math takes over and the short term 'variance' no longer matters.

Sorry, you're late. I criticized Rob many times and a long time ago for what he did and what he posted. I blocked him from the forum twice but allowed him to come back because he was going to change. Well, guess what? Under the ownership of Dan, Rob has gotten worse. I can't block Rob now-- Dan has to. Will he? Well, Dan seems to be an absentee landlord here. I don't think he even bothers to read the forum anymore.

And there was no bullshit with the Redietz package. I still haven't gone to the office. You never believed that I was away on vacation. You never believed that only Tony has the key. You never believed that Tony takes vacations and doesn't spend much time at the office.
