Not just Vegas either. I mentioned that I got Tiffany cards once but that was a buy with comps event that was slightly less than dollar for dollar at the level I purchased at but much less at higher levels. But I've done several in recent years that were invitation only - either $x in gift cards for every $x in play over a specific period (like a week), or large amounts based on particular point levels earned over a defined period with both established individually by player based on play history. The former could have certainly generated that level of prize, if one had reasons or desire to work it, and the latter, while my offers weren't ever that high, was certainly lucrative for people who had past play to generate a higher offer and who were able and willing to play for it.

Looking at the other side of these "promos": I've been in Cosmo 3 times playing no promotions on their not-so-great pay tables for 3-4 hours total, and I've netted a little over $2k in profit. I still get crappy offers from them but the place ain't my bag.

I’ll bite, why would ANYONE play their bad paytables with no promotion?

Ask Argentino at what pay table do his systems fail. There has not, in almost 7000 posts, been an answer to that question. They always win. Otherwise, being a paragon of straight-shooting and honest reporting (almost on a level with a certain intrepid reporter), "Rob" would certainly have mentioned it.
