Your personal analysis left out one important point: I am perceived as a "bullshitter" because to certain people, certain true things I've said or shown about myself and my family does not go over well with the little people. And that's OK with me. OTOH, kew is universally seen as a bullshitter because, well, as Dan himself says, he's a known hoax machine, and I'll add in that his empty life constantly SCREAMS out for relevance, attention and acceptance. And this is devastating to him.
