No. That's you on a "fishing expedition" to find out what KJ knows wrt to the settlement. If he puts up a lot, then it would be highly likely that something happened. I mean, firstly, that he had the money, and, secondly, that he put it out there along with yours. Of course, a slight chance of a bluff, but, why would he put so much out there were he trying to suck you into putting a lot out there? You would simply change your mind based on the new, such information. (Then, Monet would have another moment, accuse you of not going through with it.
