The money is just not there in video poker these days compared to advantage slots. Even Bob Dancer has made the switch. He's covered it somewhat in his LVA blog. He works mid-strip. He runs a slot route on cruises. He hasn't totally quit video poker but plays it much less these days.
Advantage slot play doesn't always generate comp. That's because your wager is controlled by the amount of action you run. Let's say one day you find a 20% advantage that has $400 in expectation sitting there. That's just a $2000 wager. Doesn't generate much comp. So what should you do? I personally take the $400 and forego the comp.
