The US and UK branches retained the Answers in Genesis (AiG) name and control of the AiG website under Ham's leadership. The Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, and South African branches rebranded themselves as Creation Ministries International (CMI).

Florida isn’t particularly civilized Boz. You got Florida Man, people shitting on floors of fast food chicken places, and the list goes on. And Puerto Rico, that’s a US territory that can only be as civilized as we let it be, what would you expect when we treat it like the floors of a Miami fast food chicken restaurant.

The autistic Nubian took umbrage at the accusation that she shit on the floor of a chicken joint in Miami.

"That never happened," she smirked: "It wasn't in Miami, really: it was in Overtown."

Florida is a cultural fusion of the northeast and the Caribbean, a rather disgusting mix when you think about it.

    I was 21.

In the 1970's, American men married at 22.5 years of age; women at 20.5.

In 2024, American men marry at 32; women at 30. This is, anthropologically, culturally, and biologically, a sea change. This is a completely different life arc from the 1970's. Putting off commitment to a mate and delaying family life for a full decade represents something unique in human history. The 2024 American male is something that has heretofore not really existed in terms of mating patterns (or conversely, lack thereof).

One could make the case that life in 2024 juvenifies both sexes and creates a population of self-absorbed "adult children."

Red. You, like KJ, can never just answer the question, and, so, you end up spouting simplistic nonsense for some self-justification. Consider at least the following.

Since 1970, out-of-wedlock birth rates have soared. In 1965, 24 percent of black infants and 3.1 percent of white infants were born to single mothers. By 1990 the rates had risen to 64 percent for black infants, 18 percent for whites. Every year about one million more children are born into fatherless families. If we have learned any policy lesson well over the past 25 years, it is that for children living in single-parent homes, the odds of living in poverty are great. The policy implications of the increase in out-of-wedlock births are staggering.

    quote from this blog:

"What I did learn from OJ is that it's reasonable to suspect that the most gifted and famous among us may have a dark, dark side.

And I learned that whatever I consciously think, emotionally I may have a dark and undomesticated current too."

    this is deep, deep writing

it brings to mind the works of Fyodor Dostoevsky and specifically his masterwork "Crime and Punishment"

I actually think his writing may even be more insightful than Fyodor's

    more deep, deep writing

this dude is blowing really hard

I hope everybody really appreciates it

it's rare that on a forum such as this that a poster will choose to use a word such as "juvenifies"

it's an example of a very rare and very great literary talent

    I'm a journalist, not a writer. I report; I don't much invent. I don't dabble in fiction; wouldn't know where to begin.

And I often use lines from SNL regarding the "Deep Thoughts" skits to describe my blog. I just emailed some friends yesterday using that "Deep Thoughts" line.

So I appreciate the insights, Half Smoke. While I was honored by you comparing my one-day newspaper reporting to great fiction, I must beg off. Writing a great novel in two hours is somewhat beyond me. I'll try to improve.

P.S. You do realize the appropriate meta-response to your post would be to point out that your observations don't exactly qualify as remarkable? It puts you squarely in a pot-calling-kettle-black situation. The great literary critic picking on the reporter for his lack of savoir faire and all that. Your observations -- so deep, so strewn with genius cynicism, such a joy to read, such a contribution to public discourse.

And you don't even have the backbone to sign your name to such work. What a shame. LOL.

Well, Red's blog is only slightly easier reading than Tasha's screed, but, less so than old V's premature "ejaculations". Ha.

what heretofore would my name add to the conversation_________?

and I'm so surprised that an obviously accomplished, talented and renowned "journalist" such as yourself would stoop to using the banal colloquialism "LOL"

    it juvenifies the issue

and it didn't bring about a sea change in my point of view - anthropologically, culturally, or biologically

A tip for Redietz - capping an obviously angry response with an LOL makes you look even more upset.

I would have answered with simplicity:

I got married in 1978 at 29 which, according to redietz, puts me WAY ahead of my time; we will be very happily married for 46 years this Oct.; I've never brow-beaten my wife with egotistical gambling nonsense or made her feel as if she was married to a weirdo from Mars; and....we both LOVE burning fossil fuels!

    Simple stuff.

Did you marry for mating purposes?

The average age of a newlywed in the U.K. is 30.6 for women and 32.1 for men — about five years older than they would have been 1995, and nine years older than in 1964.

The average age in Ireland is similar.

This phenomenon is not unique to the USA.

Well I can't argue with this. Maybe some proof here:
