The shaking up federal bureaucracy is something I tend to believe he can also do.

Endless regulation. I tend to believe the regulation is good but big business has a huge interest in sending the message of its evil because it slows down their accumulation of wealth. (It also keeps smaller players from getting in... that's also quite bad) Moving us towards a police state - I'd say Republicans are more about that. The weird shit where you rat on your neighbor if they had an abortion and can get paid when you had nothing to do with it???? Republicans look aside but thats as hardcore police state as anything in my lifetime. All the get the cops off people's backs are pretty much liberal cities. (Very often to their detriment). I feel you have that one completely wrong and don't think we'd agree at all. There isn't that much protecting people or the Earth itself from being poisoned. Or any of the numerous ways the monied can fuck the non-monied.

The problem with lowering prices is that tariffs are mostly going to go in the opposite direction. So instead of a normal war, you have a trade war. A trade war tends to impact the lower classes. It literally becomes a backdoor tax on the lower classes. Couple that with Trump wanting to lower taxes for wealthy. Thats the biggest problem - we hear about reduced government spending but never increasing taxes on wealthy. Due to basic math, the rich have a discretionary income that is far far larger than working class people. They simply don't/can't spend what they make. Then given compound interest the accumulate a larger portion of the wealth which they in then have to invest it. Well they run out of shit to invest in. And what they can invest in has to maintain returns which in late stage capitalism almost always means taking value away from the consumer. There aren't many advances left. So they sit around and think about how they can provide less and charge more. All the ENDLESS stories about how private equity makes things shitty for everyone. Of course the rich can ignore these issues through various means.

Then you have the standard Trump support who as Steinbeck said, 'the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires'. So true.

The effect is that it rigs the game so lower classes can't even buy homes anymore. They work their knuckles bloody trying to get ahead. You can still do it in this country but it is so hard. It wont' get any better under someone like Trump. We have to have an income tax that is far more top heavy or a wealth tax for the very wealthy. Otherwise this shit will keep happening. The game becomes increasingly rigged. The media as it is just works to make working class people hate each other. It is crazy to me that so much of the thought is based on entitlement. Once you go down the path of the left or right you just see endless senses of entitlement all through differently tinted glasses.

Trump will not fix this. He's won by blaming the brown man. They aren't totally wrong. We have to stop immigration too. Too many trashy people setting up here. Or people who don't have our values. Although Trump followers seem to often be anti-education but somehow think we can compete globally without it. Contrast this with China or asian countries. Our time at the top is rapidly winding down.

Anyway Trump is the opposite of the solution for this. Immigration , shaking up bureaucracy, and forcing NATO to pay more seem to be things I can kinda get behind. I'm just not sure the bureaucracy is such a bad thing. That's what keeps planes from crashing and shit like that. Trump doesn't even want to pay for basic infrastructure.

And this isn't even touching on the 'drill baby drill' shit. 2 years back to back global heating records. I called how bad it was about to get 2-3 years ago and was mocked by the weird with the dick fetish and Crimm. That alone makes it very hard to get behind. Trump doesn't like windmills because they make his property look bad. He isn't looking out for anyone. He's a completely petty wannabe tyrant. Those who still worship him - well good for you but it has become quite apparent what sort of person you are in various ways. Not really worth attacking Trump directly. Everyone knows who he is by now except for a few... as you see witnessing this forum.

Ultimately hes just too corrupt to do the job.

I have a friend who applied at Tesla. They said 60-70 hour weeks if you work here bub. Thats because they have a ton of immigrants on those h2b visas (or whatever the name). Thats why Elon loves it so much. I guess we get cheaper cars but they also just had a huge margin. But anyway, this goes to show you how Elon runs business but hes now in charge of our government.

    Good game.
Part of the problem is that people still talk in terms of Democrats, Republicans, liberals, conservatives, & Trump.

They all have some overlapping & some totally different philosophies & lines between all are blurred.

This is why it’s best now to focus on specific outcomes & policies that people want, ie lower prices etc.

Because talking in terms of Trump this and liberals that etc. is essentially starting to become meaningless.
I sorta agree but I still think Trump is totally worth a distinction. It isn't worth it to say oh orange man bad or whatever, but yea, the distinctions need to be pointed out ,..

Like ... and he appointed this person because why? Ohhhhh they apologized for calling him Hitler and now call him the greatest... I see.

There is a huge distinction. He's going down the path of oligarches and totally giving up on the american dream. Ok, we bring back manufacturing jobs but that is just as much to shore up our country for the wealthy as it is to help the working class. They still will have a hard time affording anything. Private Equity will still come through and destroy every positive aspect of anything they get their hands on so they can deliver the bare minimum.
Well this was one of Bidens Appointees to the DOE with nuclear waste responsibilities no less! Later arrested for stealing women’s luggage in airports,

I don’t think Trump could do much worse.

Three letter agencies & government bureaucracy is / are out of control and who’s going to fix that? Dems? Hahahaha.

If he’s offensive and full of bullshit I don’t care just on these two issues alone.

Democrats are inoffensive, politically correct, & talk a good game about being for the little guy, but what policies do they actually enact? Endless wars (along with the neocons) endless regulation & government overreach, moving us towards becoming a police state (As do many Republicans)?

No one cares anymore about what politicians say or how they come off. They care about the tangible things like no more endless wars, reduced government spending, lower prices etc. etc.

At this point he could wear a swastika, grow a Charlie Chaplin mustache and just speak solely in four letter curse words and racial epithets but if he gets the major tangibles moving in the right direction he will continue to have majority support,

You just told us in far too many words how little you know about people and world, likely because of an inadequate education along with never having been anywhere.

Not unlike most alarmist greenies, really, and a carbon copy of those horrified by the way Trump is going about saving our nation and putting a sense of reason back into our government.

And I KNOW you're liking it.

You gotta love account with his declarations regarding things he knows almost nothing about. It's ridiculous. Those of us from the Phila/NY tabloid area have followed Trump since he was in his 20's. Hell, I attended the opening of the Taj Mahal. But account has a keen sense of who is "corrupt" and who isn't. Let me clue you in, account. I know some folks who worked in Biden's office when he was Scranton Joe. Biden and Trump have two things in common -- they are both "corrupt" as hell, and they got things done when nobody was telling them what to do.

But, folks, don't be too hard on account. He gets most of his info from dates with "college educated" women. Not college grads, mind you, but "college educated."

I'm sorry. I have no business ever responding, even obliquely, to someone dating "college educated" women. I'm clearly out of my intellectual league.

That is a plurality. A majority is 50%+1. He did come close, but it remains that at no time, has he won a majority. And I know our republican friends will disagree because of the current situation, but I think it is very problematic for a minority of voters to continually be able to win elections an wield power. And the same would be true if the democrats were able to do so.
Yes i get it, a plurality of the popular vote not a majority, a majority of the electoral college, semantics. BROAD support would have been a more technically accurate term.

Or we could invent a new term like “nigger rich” & say he had a “nigger majority” a new term for when a politician wins with a plurality but not a majority of the popular vote.

Which has the added benefit of bringing us back full circle to the title of this thread.

I totally agree but their title was 'deputy assistant secretary of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition in the Office of Nuclear Energy"?. We WERE talking about people at the highest positions and do real things. That person was fairly qualified even if a quite poor choice otherwise. They can't just sign a paper and have nuclear fuel shipped to someone's door.

The fucked up thing is id take that person vs all the questionable Trump picks on an iq test. I'd bet on it too.

Did you know them via your time with the CIA? Oh wait wrong bozo. Hard to see on my phone.

Redietz has so little to go off. I said that one time so I didn't hear some line about finding them under a bridge or what have you. It is quite easy to be around women if you lower your standards enough. From that Redietz jumps in little circles telling himself he got one on me. Okey dokey ditz.

Neither one of you understands the math behind gambling.

Fair point but cabinet heads are like CEOs of large corporations. They set the broad agenda, make the large decisions & represent their agencies, but most of the actual work and day to day decisions are made by the deputies & assistant secretaries & their underlings.

    Whatever tho.

It all boils down to whether people prefer clown world A from the Democrats or clown world B from the Republicans.

Interestingly he refers to himself as a conversion therapy survivor. The bald aesthetic would indicate the therapy partially worked, relieving him of his urge to grow his hair out like a proper woman. Unfortunately he looks worse than if the therapy had been either 0% or 100% successful.

    Oh I hadn’t noticed that!

Could be a solution to the problem in the US of the shortage of native born Americans with nuclear physics degrees.

Maybe more people need to go through conversion therapy and that problem will work itself out.
