You also used the word grinder, Kim Lee. I don't know if many people know what the real definition of grinder is. A player that plays lower to mid level stakes, and plays a lot. It is about volume of play, usually at lower or mid-level stakes, because in blackjack you can only grind at stakes that are tolerated. You can't be a grinder playing high stakes.

And if you are going to be a grinder, whether blackjack or machine play, you almost have to move to Vegas or spend a great deal of time here. There are a few like mickeycrimm that travel around "grinding", but most of us need to be where there are a lot of casinos in close proximity. And that ends up being Las Vegas. I tried my grinder act in Atlantic City but just couldn't do it for long. I guess Moses tried in Reno. You need a rotation of 30-40 or more casinos so you can really spread your play around.
Slot AP is not a grind. Its quick and easy. Video poker was a grind.

It's been my life experience, as someone who spent 100 days a year in LV for decades, that most of the people who say "they are grinding" actually mean, well, you can guess.

For example, and I may be wrong, so video poker and LVA experts please correct me, I have never heard or read Bob Dancer referring to what he does as "grinding." I think the old, colloquial interpretation of the word "grinding" has very little to do with a correlation with "winning." People who are winning usually report that they are "winning," not "grinding."

Now my personal experience is, of course, extremely limited, but I pass along my life experience when it comes to gambling language interpretation. Not everyone is kewlJ, coasting along while grinding at everything.
