Could be a legitimate reason for a solvent person to be late, but he could also have been broke as a joke at the time.

I wasn't really referring to Dietz paying his property tax late as any kind of supporting evidence. BUT if I remember, he did have a rather odd explanation for doing so. I think that explanation was at GF, not here though. he mentioned something like he paid it 6 months late along with 10% penalty, which amounted to only a small amout (I guess about $50). Small amount or not paying a 10% penalty for an extra 6 months, is pretty poor way to handle finances. But whatever.

What I was referring to as far as redietz, with the supporting evidence comment, was this. Somebody betting sports for a living has to hit at 53% just to overcome the vig. So they really need to hit at 55% minimum long-term to show any profit. Probably more like 56-57% to show any reasonable profit long-term.

Kim Lee, having gone over all the different publications from the 80-90's concluding that Redeitz did not hit at 55% long-term. It was indeed about 53%. Which lead to the conclusion that he may have broken about even, maybe made some small amount of money some years. NOT enough to live off of. That is why Kim Lee included the comment "if he had someone basically supporting him".

As far as I know, Kim Lee did not know about Red's wife, a college professor, who likely did support him or pay most of the living expenses, and yet Kim Lee hit the nail right on the head.

There just is no evidence that Redietz made any kind of real money betting sports. Did he make a good living as a tout, or taking a percentage of bettors money (free roll type service)? I have no idea. I wouldn't think so, Plus if Red was hitting 53%, the people that were his clients were losing money. They would have needed to hit much higher than that to break even with paying redietz however he structured it) on top. So they lost money. That means he would have needed a new set of clients every year. Hence his need to be in Vegas 100 days to drum up new clients and business.

And none of that is illegal, but it just is not what Redeitz told us all these years. he told us he was a professional sports bettor and the numbers just don't bear that out. Even though Red mentioned Kim Lee as having all that information, I suspect he never envisioned Kim Lee coming here and exposing everything he did about redeitz and even some of the shit in those contests results, like the touts that used them could pay to have their results look better.
