What we don't know is how stupid you are.

Grosjean is most definitely a millionaire from advantage play, I am quite sure a multi-millionaire. Jacobson is a failed AP, so it goes without saying that he is not a millionaire from AP.
I have no idea concerning Mike's finances concerning AP and backers, nor "other authors" who you aren't even naming, so I am not going to speculate.
I don't know what you are driving at here....what your point is, but I have made over a million dollars in my 14 years as an AP. I first hit that mark in late 2016 and then fell back and again went over that milestone early this year (for good I hope). I don't have a million dollars, nor would call myself a millionaire, but I have made a million dollars APing. My particular numbers are about 80% from blackjack card counting and 20% from other supplemental AP stuff. A million dollars isn't that high of a threshold (over many years). If I can do it, employing the most elementary (and most feel outdated) method of AP and at low to mid level stakes, anyone could achieve this goal that had a mind to.
In my own case, earlier in my career, when I was underfunded and still building my bankroll, I had several offers of joining a well known team, and had an offer of a financial backing for my solo play, that would have allowed me to play higher stakes and probably achieve greater results much quicker. I declined on all occasions. I didn't want to be "beholden" to anyone else, team members or investors. I wanted to answer to and be responsible for only myself.
I am sure you don't care about any of that, but my point is that investors backing AP's is a very common thing. If the investor has vetted the player through friends, associates and other mutual players, and the player is sound, it is a good investment with high returns of 50-100% (sometimes more). An investor, investing in sound AP's will do quite well, even if one occasionally goes bad or rouge.
You are getting to be like Alan. Just because YOU are not familiar with something does not mean it does not exist.
What's your point, OneHit? That your daily grind is somehow better, or less pitiful, than mickey's? State your point.
I'm not anonymous, as I've said gazillion times. R.E. Dietz is my name. State your wager. Unlike some other ventures, whether handicappers win is pretty much in black and white. It's possible, I suppose, to publicly have a great record and lose your ass because you're a degenerate betting other things, but if you find someone who knows I've "bet other things," I'll write you a check and an apology. That's why my video poker playing (roughly 40 hours per year) is about 80% quarters on senior days. That's why I've bet zero college basketball games and zero NBA games in the last 20 years, not counting futures hedges. More than ninety percent of my wagering volume takes place in the 100 days of the college football regular season.
State your wager.
I'll say so. OneHit, like Alan and several others are anti-AP or anti-gambling or however you want to phrase it. I don't know what "bug" these people have up their ass, but this is like the twilight zone, with all these deniers.
Yeah, but you didn't provide, ID, birth certificate, DNA test, yearbook photos, so these goofy 'twi-light zone' conspirators, keep going. These kind will never be satisfied.
People the caliber of Grosjean are working on new ways to beat games or are out in casinos playing and crushing them. They don't give a shit about what some two bit idiot(s) thinks he's doing.
Ya, sure he is. Blackjack is how many decades old? With all that "dollar to cents" countermeasures? And Jacobson volunteers with looking after elephants. At least, he claims that is what he is doing, these days.
And you have another important game to fleece, at this very moment, yourself, instead of actually backing up what you say?
Of course they don't. Did I say that I am concerned about that, or shaking in my boots? Ooh, the big bad counters will get me!
I think I will survive without your respect.
Classy! One thing most of you "trollers" have in common is a complete lack of class. I suspect that is not how your parents brought you up. You disrespect them by acting like this.
For all his faults...and there are MANY, I give Alan credit in that he doesn't take that low road that the rest of you "trollers" do.
See, we give OneHit a little room (on another thread), and he reveals himself. He had been trying to figure out what the casinos would do to him next and was also learning Spanish from a beautiful woman in South America. So we have a someone who has had casinos do things to him. Naturally, OneHit, being a very bright individual (hey, just read his posts, they ooze bright) has come to the conclusion that the people who were able to do things to casinos, as opposed to have casinos do things to them, were either (A) making stuff up or (B) wasting their hours and energy on something beneath the purview of useful human beings.
Not an uncommon theme. So common, it deserves its own slang -- maybe "Philosopher Loser" or "Philo-Sore-Loser" or "Winner in Life," the latter taken from the recently fired coach of the Tennessee Volunteers.
You are such a douche bag, coach belly. You really are! Yeah you live for these "gotch ya" moments. I guess that is the extent of your participation here, because you never post anything useful or beneficial to anyone. Just play your games.
For the record, I never said that I was without blame. One of my big weaknesses is that I allow you trolls to provoke me and sometimes respond in ways that I am not later, proud of.
The classic AP maneuver: dig yourself in deeper.
Why would I care that you survive, let alone thrive?
You were going to beat everyone up, remember, and then said you made it all up? Some crazed lunatic with a heart by-pass. I've never seen anyone do that on any forum, gambling or other. What is that if not a shit shooter cum cry baby? Do you tell others to shoot the shit, like Axel in the thread with the newcomer?
I'm glad that you really like Kewlj card counting his way to millions.
BTW, I didn't use the words CARD counter. You're putting word(s) into my mouth. Counters may refer to those who perform any mental gymnastics with numbers. Human calculators, ha. And collectively to all blackjack players, including card counters. Nor did I single him out here, as he's not worthy of that. (Even though his "claim to fame" is not card counting. He might be a millionaire, though. I forgot about the time he sued a casino for throwing him out. $500,000 or something like that? Good for him.)
He didn't care about the money. They offered to settle with him many times. He told them "I don't care about the money so fuck off." He wanted the judgement. That had never happened before. When the defense lawyers seen they might lose they always offered up a settlement and everyone took it. The problem with the settlements is they never changed the way security operated. A judgement would make them have to change. Grosjean did AP's everywhere a big favor by not taking a settlement and pushing it to a judgement. It started the change in the way security operates.
For those of you that have never heard about this incident, here's the story:
http://www.blackjackforumonline.com/...funnything.htm
James Grosjean is not one of my favorite people in the AP community. I don't like the way he belittles card counters, with his "salamander" comments. Personally, he has made some negative comments about me on two other blackjack sites. On one of the sites, he went as far as to create a sock puppet to say that I should be more advanced than I am at this point of my career, in regards to other (non-blackjack) AP plays. It was other members who actually figured out who it was because he had said something very similar about me, using his regular handle. I am not sure why he would care what I am doing. Maybe I should feel honored that he even took an interest and thinks I should be doing more. Maybe his way of trying to light a fire or something.
But that aside, I have great respect for his AP abilities and I couldn't agree more with Mickey's above statement. I know he personally, along with Mr. Nersesian, changed the climate, as far as security procedures and barrings in Las vegas, just as my career here began, for which I greatly benefited.
The mention of Grosjean's lawsuit got me thinking. Grosjean's lawsuit changed the climate for the better in Las vegas (an ultimately elsewhere) for card counters, as well as resulted in a settlement for himself. Comparing that to Kenny Uston's lawsuits in NJ, that he "won", but received no damages and the net result was blackjack conditions in NJ immediately deteriorated, as casino's moved to protect themselves. Unlike Grosjean, Uston's actions were a huge negative for card counters in NJ for decades (and continue to this day).
I know you've read this and commented, but for others who haven't read it:
https://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/gamb...-city-discuss/
I don't agree with James's position.....or at least one of his positions, as he seems to at times take both sides of the argument.
He says they didn't make the game "unbeatable". No they didn't. But the AC game (conditions) immediately changed for the worse as a result of Uston's lawsuit did they not? I mean this was not only before my BJ time, but maybe before I was born (mid 80's...I'll have to check on that). Wasn't the immediate response that AC did away with the lucrative 'early surrender' rule as well as went to all shoe, 4 and later 6 and later 8 deck games. All with mediocre penetration, where conditions had been much more favorable (lower house edges) prior to Uston's actions?
As someone who began my career playing AC for 5 and a half years before moving to vegas, I can tell you those 8 deck shoe games with mediocre penetration were no bargain. Las vegas (with the exception of the strip) was a major step up for me as far as favorable conditions.
One point that James makes is that there is not much difference in whether a casino is allowed to back off / bar a player, or half shoe or flat bet them. In either case they have made the game unplayable for a card counter. But that is precisely why I prefer the Las vegas (Nevada) model of playing the 'cat and mouse' game. That at least gives the player a chance to identify just what is and isn't tolerated (comfort levels) at each location and avoid countermeasures. The NJ countermeasures are built in...thank's to Uston.
While it may have been bad for counters, it was awesome for overall AP players.
Just another blackjack author who wrote about it because he couldn't make any other go of it. If he couldn't, then you guys can't, let alone your never actually showing even how you claim to.
I think there are some more elephants that need tending by the (illiterate) AP's who crack up. "Oh gee, that guy won the lottery by suing, so why didn't it work for me?" Of all the ones who sue or go to court, you have to expect a few anomalies. They are the ones who go on to write about it. And are praised by the players for telling the casinos what they already knew. Lol.
And that's the 411 on blackjack.
Don't feed the trolls and hopefully they'll die off (figuratively, of course). IE: Block, don't click "View post anyway", and certainly don't respond.
Honestly, though, who would or did troll Shacky's Spanish thread? If Alan has a girl in Paris, why not one in South America for a mere "troll" like me? I thought it an apt reply to a poster who was probably pulling our legs. Most of the first time posters who introduce themselves with odd questions are. Why the heck would anyone here even consider moving to South America? Lol. Carry on with the gambling, though, have fun. It's great not to have to, for any and every reason, and to watch you guys try.
P.S. I guess I got up also Dan's skirt. Maybe, it's no so easy waiting to win something.
+1. see highlighted
For what? For trolling! You contribute nothing of value to anyone. You have turned into just another anti-AP troll. Hell, now you are even trolling the owner of the site.
It's just not that hard to see people's agenda. For several months, OneHitWonder posted one post over and over and over. He even did the same on another site. No one, and I mean NO ONE, had the slightest clue what that was about. Just a guy being a dick! When whatever that was didn't work, he has turned into Singer-lite, doing nothing but trolling AP's. No intent on contributing anything positive. Just tear down others. This simply should not be tolerated. If that is someone's SOLE goal, their sole agenda, get rid of them. Let them destroy some other site.
And coach belly is of the same mold, with the same agenda. When was the last time coach belly contributed something of value to anyone? Something that could even be considered as anything but trolling? Yeah, sure coach belly does it a little differently. Not smack talking every thing said. He lies in wait, searching for these "gotta ya" moments. And then he springs like the nasty little troll that he is.
Bottom line: These are people with an agenda. They are not here to contribute anything positive (and they never do). They troll and wait and have one single goal...to troll the AP's on this site. And they could care less about ruining the site, or that the site belongs to someone else (Dan). Total lack of respect for anyone, including Dan Druff and this agenda should not be tolerated. All it does is turn the site into a cesspool, and discourages other members from participating. It prevents this site from becoming anything other than what it currently is.
Look, Dan miscalculated the odds of 18 straight yo's, over in the 18 yo's thread where Alan met his Waterloo. Fact. Simple calculation. Fact. Poker player. Fact. What's wrong with that picture? And, if you guys, AP or SP or whatever type of casino customer, can't handle someone who says not to gamble, but who, at the same time, enjoys watching those who do, and who try to prove me wrong, then I guess this place has become another house of Shacky. Nobody is ever going to post anything decent here or there unless there's a modicum of free speech.
What do I care about banning people? You don't have to do that to win an argument. It's about the seventh or eighth psychological defence mechanism from people who are losing the argument. (Crystal clear in the developments from this thread after I challenged Mickey to the same noted bet as he offered me. And up to the point that the quoted conditions of said bet began to change erratically. If I could win said bet w/o running from building to building, then why not? It's the money that counts here.) I think that you guys are just losing face or something. A sign of a degenerate gambler. When you can't lose something, however small, without it tearing you down.
I think that you should just take RS__'s advice, and go away.
P.S. The tenth is where everyone says they are not coming back until so-and-so has been banned. So amazing just how any one person can take over a free and public board.
I don't have a problem with someone telling people to not gamble. It does seem like an odd way to spend one's time -- telling people on gambling sites to not gamble. My personal preference would be to go to hardcore religious sites and explain why people shouldn't pray, but to each his own.
However, OneHit takes things a bit further. He calls people out as liars with no evidence that they are lying. Now, personally, I don't know if mickey does what he claims, so I can't testify in court for him, but his story does hang together. Now how someone could proclaim that mickey's making things up, I don't know. OneHit makes proclamations without evidence, which I guess is my issue with him. The entire "billions spent" quote from OneHit with regards to the casino industry allegedly knowing how to circumvent all APs or the naive "why don't they have backers?" lines (they do) highlight that OneHit doesn't have all of the facts, and really doesn't care that he doesn't have all of the facts. He was dead wrong on two basic proclamations (not speculations, mind you, but proclamations). So why would a poster just proclaim stuff he doesn't really know?
I don't really know, but my default guess is that OneHit has taken a beating from casinos and is in "if I can't win, nobody can" mode, which is pretty common. So yes, OneHit, it must be true. Everyone is dumber than you and has less expertise than you, so if you have not won in casinos, it must mean the APs are degenerate losers. I suggest everyone just salute OneHit for his deep insights and carry on.
P.S. Casino gaming has been ubiquitous long enough now that a full generation has been exposed all over the country. As usual, I'll recommend reading "Addiction by Design" by anthropologist Natasha Schull. There are going to be increasing numbers of people who cannot handle their own gambling addiction and history and whose self perception can't handle the fact that other individuals have solved and made a profit from certain aspects of gambling. These people are not going to publicly beat themselves up, and they find no real outlet or satisfaction in writing anti-gambling op eds. Instead, they'll go after anybody who claims to have beaten the games.
Please point out which forum rule OHW has violated; absent a violation of a rule, what basis would there be to ban him, other than the fact some people view him as a pain in the ass?
I know that YOU love this type of stuff Mr v. You sir are a drama queen. :p You enjoyed the sites that were set up just for flaming and trolling and drama.
But this is NOT your site. This is supposed to be a site about gambling and vegas topic discussions and that includes guys that play with an advantage sharing their experiences. While Dan is a very absentee owner and I don't think takes this forum seriously enough, he DID say when he banned Singer that he had hopes that would open the door to more participation by new members. He mentioned that he had privately heard from some members reluctant to participate under that type of environment (that you love).
So it isn't so much as did someone like OHW break a written rule. It's just a general, why is he here? When you can clearly and easily see that someone's participation is just to disrupt and tear down the site, then he should be asked to leave. Redietz gave a good example, in someone going to a Christian site and bad mouthing Christianity or praising Satin. Similarly someone going to a Nascar site and bad mouthing Nascar, shouldn't be tolerated. If your goal is to just be disruptive....go somewhere else.
The patients now rule the asylum.
You still refuse to take it one specific claim at a time. Okay, I'll start with my "billions of dollars" claim. My exact words in the post (numbered 303 in this thread) are,
Where did I write that the casinos directly paid that much for their own research? Now, I'm not going to get into latitudes of the various definitions or connotations of the word research, which are extensive. I don't have to. Even the existing countermeasures against casino employees and players constitute a form of research, as do the many, many new databasing and analytical techniques used to profile, deter and capture casino criminals. The jury is still out on a lot of that stuff. (Just some stuff I have read about, and bookmarked here and there.) However, here are just a very, very few examples of the amounts of monies spent on plain, ordinary gambling research.Quote:
Who really has? Mass, casino gambling is about the appearance of a chance to win. What the players think they know is pure baloney put or left there by much shrewder souls than them. Billions in research, and decades of empirical findings versus a few flighty and touchy-feely persons on a few ever-dying internet message boards.
The few research grants in just this one link sum to over 2 million dollars? http://www.ncrg.org/research-center/...project-grants
A couple of other links, to give the reader a better idea of the basic questions asked about gambling. And I haven't even touched upon the economic and political studies of gambling.

Red, as I read a bit more of your post above, I see some words here and there that I simply do not remember having written. Please quote me directly, in the future. Or fuck off!
[QUOTE=OneHitWonder;55970]Okay, you got me there onehit. I'm a sucker for an appearance of a chance to win. So could you do me a favor. Could you talk to the shrewder souls and get them to put in some $5 denom 10/8 Jacks or Better for me. That would definitely sucker me into playing. I'll bring my whole bankroll and throw it on the line. They can have their way with me. I'll play until I'm broke, or....or....or....something else. I have a lot of friends who would like to play 10/8 Jacks to. The shrewder souls could get rich off of us. So do your best to persuade them for us, okay? Thank you for your cooperation.Quote:

Not this again...
The wormm's terms will eventually mandate a trip to Montana, even though he never stipulates that in the original challenge.
It's always an add-on after interest is shown, when the wormm knows full well that nobody is coming to Montana to call him out on his bullshit.
Hey wormm, is there any gambling challenge that you will take outside of Montana?
You just visited how many casinos? So let's see what you can do outside of your comfort zone.
Nor is it your site.
Many forums have individuals who espouse contrarian viewpoints, which is fine.
So OHW thinks alleged AP's are full of shit: bully for him.
Let him say it, and explain why he feels that way.
Then you can respond, and hopefully out of the crucible of conflict "the truth" can be found.
Fuck off and die bitch. You want troll motherfucker? You got troll. Let's troll, bitch. Get your fucking troll on, cocksucker. Let's troll this motherfucking site down, cunt. If it's a free rein to troll here then let's get this fucking troll train rolling you fat bellied son of a bitch.
LarryS with you as his endorser ruined Gambling Forums. Now you want to endorse canthitblunder while he does the same thing here. There are plenty of sites to do it on the net. Why do you have to fucking do it here? Nothing serious can be discussed as long as the trolls dominate the site and turn it into a shithole. Get a fucking life for Christ's sake.
I hate to question the logic of our dear OneHit, but it has occurred to me that if casinos spent "billions" on research so their games are impregnable to APs, then at some point either the games were beatable or the casinos wasted one helluva lot of money. LOL. So now, after spending unspecified "billions," OneHit's argument is that the casinos have solved the issue, and all current APs are fibbing. That's a tad imprecise. I'd like to know, so I sleep better, was the problem solved after the first half billion in research, or the second, or the third, or is it possibly an ongoing investment casinos make to assure that nobody's walking off with their shekels?
If you're going to criticize gambling, it might be helpful to have some blessed idea what you're talking about.
That site was created years ago, and was moribund til LarryS. got there.
Neither he nor I lasted there too long: the assclown running the joint went psycho, leading to "Game Over" for us.
You, KJ and others remained AFTER LarryS. and I were banned: with us gone it should have been your bitch.
What happened with that?
I wouldn't be too cocky, you never know.
Not all men over sixty are weak, out of shape blowhards; some actually enjoy a fist fight now and then.

Like you were supposedly going to show up in L.A. to face me pussy? (yawn)...what happened with that?....I had you pegged correctly from months ago...a broke fucking fat nerd who got his ass kicked constantly growing up... now a broke social outcast who lives out his gambling and tough guy fantasies over the internet from his safe zone in the janitors closet....Like any person with anything going on in their life, or is a success at any semblance of life is gonna want to travel around the country meeting total strangers for bets for chump change....Get real boy, I`m sure most people with even 1/2 a brain (including Alan and Singer) see you`re nothing but some broke internet PUSSY
My Mom is deceased, but l can stay put in your mothers mouth if you like....and I go to Vegas all the time...if I decide to be there one of those 2 dates, ILL LET YOU KNOW...you don`t dictate terms to me boy....breaking my leg off in some old, fat janitors ass isn`t item #1 on my priority list
Mickey you have now given a reason for everyone not to accept any challenge or even to meet up with you. Stay away from me.
